that doesn't mean we have to be content with it

i myself am a developer of mini-sites. just as long as a site is getting visitors, there's always potential to monetize it in some way or form

have you guys tried privately negotiating deals with individual advertisers? takes more work, but more money that way

Which parking company are you using?

Personally it looks to me like parking revenue will be up slightly for me this month compared to last (for the first time in many months), that is over a portfolio spilt between 5 different parking compaines, most seemed to show slight increases this month (2-3% or so).

Having said that normally at this time of year the bounce should be larger, no doubt due to the end of summer bounce being heavily washed out by all the financial problems. I'll have better stats in a few more days when I do my end of months calcs.

I don't see any difference, but my parking revenue never was too high.

Obviously, economy is in the toilet - wouldn't it be nice for Google to have our arbitrage Dollars right now, eh? After tanking with their stock by more than 50%, maybe they (GOOG, YHOO, MSFT) should reconsider their business killing tactics.
There are thousands of domains and Domain owners that are just waiting to spend millions of Dollars...

..and for the time being, I'm loosing $x.xxx in parking revenue per month - i'm down to .. next to nothing. Barely enough for a cheap dinner for 2. :bah:

Google stock slide has nothing much to do with wiping out most of the arbitrage, I very much doubt they will be bring that back on mass any time soon.

I never said the slide had something to do with disapproving of arbitrage. Especially since the initiative really kicked in before their stock tumbled from $747.24 (52wks high)+ to today's $356.98.
However, in times of missing revenue due to other economical imbalances, arbitrage revenue would most likely give their stock value a bit of a push.
There are millions in advertising Dollars that are up for grabs at this time - it all depends on who's going to reach out for them first.

Yes, I see what you mean. Personally I don't think they would ever revert back to allowing alot of arbitrage. I think long term it does a fair amount of damage in terms of user experience.

Oh.....it is down.

I do believe that enough domainers are down in earnings that we can say there is a consensus it is down.

There may be pockets where it has not gone down, but that is an exception. I've confirmed it with enough big domain owners I personally know, including my own portfolio.......to make me believe it is the real deal. It's referenced in blog articles all the time now also.

I also suspect that some folks would never admit it.

Down generally? yes well it is well down, I suspect most have seen 20-50% falls. Down in the last month though...I don't see it.

well actually, the projected increase in online advertising money for next year was about 25%, but considering this downturn, it was readjusted to be 19% or so. This means, online advertising still has money, and honestly, my good names still get solid or/and consistent EPC. (Well targetted names)+(nice type-in traffic) = solid parking revenue. THat being said, i feel my revenue might have dipped a bit, but we can use that to motivate us to stop buying trashy domain names. Often too, many domainers own names that can't b e optimized. Names that have irrelevant, weird, take-it-for-what-you-want letters and words in their keywords are probably hard to optimize and profit off of. If you have no idea what keyword would suite your name , that could be the beginning of an obscure, low earning name. With low earning revenues and higher registration fees, its time to get more serious when domaining..

My traffic is steady across portfolio and parking companies. I have noticed a significant reduction in RPC at Sedo and Parked. Names parked with Fabulous and Dotzup seem to be doing OK right now.
