Hello,
Every now and again I comment on things here at Namepros...while I don't plan on commenting in this post I do plan on posting some information on domain parking.
For some of you, you may not like this idea because it takes a bit more time to do then merely parking your domain elsewhere. For everyone else who doesn't mind doing a bit of work, read on.
Domain parking is a old idea. Certainly isn't something new that came up yesterday. Not old as in as old as the hills but old as in Pentium3 old. Secrets to domain parking are everywhere. Most secrets are known ones though...
Bored yet? Well enough of the chitter chatter, onto the goods.
The main reason people do domain parking is because they don't want to build their own mini-site and go from there. A mini-site can be done up in 5 minutes to 1 hour. Not long. The whole idea surronding a mini-site is that you don't use domain parking. You actually make and run the site. You set things up exactly like domain parking companies do and you place ads where you think they should go.
Setup google adwords, yahoo publisher network, valueclick, or what ever you want. Just make sure you don't setup a page full of CPC ads. CPC ads are good, but having too much isn't so great. I suggest setting up some CPA ads or referal links or affilate links. Examples of this can be taken from Commission Junction.
By displaying both the normal google adwords and say commission junction you actually give the customer more options and everyone wants more choices. Heck if ya want, through in some legitiment content and that'll help more then ever.
At the same time your also cutting out the middle man, which is increasing your percent of the pie.
Usually when you go with Google or YPN your pie is cut 2 ways. One piece for you, and one for Google. Then of course you add the domain parker it changes. It goes one for Google, one for the domain parker and one for you....sure it may not seem like much at first, but if you add up the totals over time you'll see some surprizing stats.
The only difference is that you have to host the site and not the domain parker. Reliable hosting packages start off around $5 a month. Add up the total income at the end of the month by you cutting out the middle man and doing the work yourself, you'll see some amazing stats and will never go back to parking domains again..
The above are some basic tips and I was planning on including some more tips and secrets but sadly I must go now as I am in need of sleep
Feel free to add rep if anything above helped you!
