Parking basics?

I'm very new to this and I wanted to ask about parking and monetizing domains.

If I have a parked domain with income, and wanted to actually add content/logo/graphics....would I lose the backlinks since it would change the hosting? Or do back links work using the actual Domain?

If you have example.com parked, and have back links to example.com, they will point to your new hosting if you move hosting.

Yes, the backlinks normally go to the domain no matter where it is hosted or not hosted.
