If that is correct it sure is odd why Google announced the new Adsense For Domains a few days ago :-/ which everyone can use with no minimum traffic requirement.

P.S. after reading this thread I believe you folks are checking your parked.com stats far too often.

adsense for domains is a new idea , I mentioned former

How important is adding title and description metatags? I just added the domain name (without the .com) to these fields for most of my volume domains, and maybe it's just coincidental, but things seem to have improved already.

How important would it be to develop these out to full titles and descriptions? Not really feasible for thousands of domains, I know.

How important is adding additional content? Would a 50,100, or 200 word paragraph be enough to get the domain ranked in google, for example?

Stu - Additional content is as important as you want it to be. For some people it's very important, for others they could care less. It's like beauty, it's all in the eye of the beholder.

Yeah, but will it improve my CTR or RPC? :)

I've talked to some people who say content hurt the CTR while others say they wouldn't even have a CTR if it weren't for the content :)

Kinda goes back to what Donny said

From my recent experience, content, in most cases, will hurt CTR. Simply put, if you offer your visitors most of what they were looking for, there's little chance for them to seek more. You definitely are giving your visitor a superb experience, even on a parked page, but you as a domainer won't have a "stellar" result. For me, the standard parked.com layout performs the best. Its "direct", either the visitor doesn't like what he/she sees and gets out, or decides to go after what they came for. In most cases, they'd rather get somewhere than nowhere and the result is a better CTR.

However, if you very wisely create a little content which spurs the visitor interest "just enough" and then lead him to more resources, the strategy might work. But, again, you need to be really good at understanding how much is enough.

Imo, the best approach is to add your meta title & description tags and leave the rest to the template. Plus, there is currently no guarantee that the meta tags on a parked domain "will" help in indexing, but it's a shot. It sometimes works, so why not make use of it.

That's about where I'm at, at the moment, although the title and description tags might need a little more work than just the domain name. Although, as I said, it seems to be working. Having my best day so far this period, that is until the stats are finalized :(

I'm just curious why i still get some $0.1 clicks for Indian traffic even after Yahoo officially added India to the domaining channel. Thanks

because of low sales conversions of indian traffic and there are very professional computer experts in india some of them abuse the system.

Actually it has nothing to do with conversions, it's all about coverage. It depends on what keyword somebody is looking for and how many advertisers for that keyword.

In most cases there is very little fraud from India in most cases.

I'm curious to know what most folks are getting in terms of an average CTR on their Parked pages? My goal has always been 30% but recently I've had a tough time even maintaining 25%. I guess I'd just like to see where others are so I can set a realistic benchmark.

Mine has gone way way way down lately.

Something I don't run across frequently but enough to be a real pain in the As$ when it happens, is when adding a domain to the system you have a ~ Domain Conflict ~ This has happened to me quite a few times this year and when you need to add a name sometimes you need to add it RIGHT THEN.

For anyone who doesn't know what a domain conflict is...It's when you try to add a domain to your parking account but it says 'domain conflict' and that another account holder currently has that name. It will do this even if that person let the name expire.

It would be sooo nice if the system could just check the whois and add it if it's in the account holders name and contact info and not in the previous account holders name..

_____Or if an account holder lets a name expire/drop then just automatically delete from the system.

____ If this can't be done then it would be great if Parked would show expiration dates, this way people 'large account holders in particular' could find and delete these names more efficiently. :yell: :) :yell: :)

Sedo has that "system", but it's very easy to abuse. Not worth the effort.

The overall CTR I used to get was 85%~92%, and now it's down to 55% after adding a few more domains which bring in a lot more traffic. Not worried.

I'm shocked to hear of so many with such high CTRs. My best domain on Sedo ranges between a 15-25% CTR month to month. Most of my others are 10% or lower.

.

For me Sedo isn't even in the ball park with Parked.com when it comes to overall performance. Parked is my home for parking domains, I've been known to spend the night out on special occasions but I always come back home. ;)

I was just making a suggestion on a feature that would be nice to have in the future. If I need to park a name quick and can't I just have to work a little harder to make things work and since Working hard at domaining is is the only thing I know these days I'll be alright B-)

Sedo thinks a normal living human being can only click one ad per domain.
