The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
AfternicAfternic
PowerUp - If I remember correctly, it's on the landing page, not the warning page.

Donny, are there still plans for more information to be displayed regarding 404 hits? Or have I missed the boat on that one and they're already there somewhere hiding?

Thanks.

It looks like Google did an algorithm update a little over 24 hours and it impacted quite a few of my sites - not just my pages at Parked.com. Not sure if you noticed that Donny or what your thoughts are this latest update.

I don't know about the last 24hrs, but I noticed that Google had deindexed several of my indexed Parked.com sites last week. I'm not sure about other parking co's yet....b/c I have not checked.

same for me

makes life simple:
post at the biggest domainers forum NamePros.
get up, go to starbucks,
lunch at macdonalds or even better, more outlets:"subway"
register a few names at godaddy
fly with american airlines to Tokyo biggest city or China (country with biggest population)
become a christian(2.1 billion people)
all this while trying to create the biggest chewing gum(wrigley) bubble in the world
I eat whale or elephant steak for dinner
I go to sleep in a king size bed
park a few names at the biggest and therefor the best company.
Too bad some of the biggest banks almost went belly up.
hey wise decision, they do not let the biggest banks go broke.
see, the bigger the better.
always works.

Which may work fine, if you are "big" too, as in sending productive 10,000+ clicks per day and thus get preferred payouts and service.

Folks sending less will likely be ignored / get less / not wanted.

Also, smaller (assuming Alexa accurately reflects parking marketshare; not convinced it does) parking services have much easier growth potential...

Whereas larger services often have less growth opportunities externally, and thus may focus more on cost cutting, including less personal service, lower payouts (except to the very largest customers who will likely be well taken of), unethical accounting, etc.

A better approach is to research the various parking services and send traffic to those services (not necessarily all to just one) that perform best for one's domains / traffic...

Ie. I find Parked works well for most generics, so-so for adult, and not at all for IDNs, which I have at NameDrive.

Funny...you missed Sedo at #5 with a ranking of 9508.

Pretty sure most people would say (except for a select few) they earn more at Parked than there.

Yep..nothing like playing with the biggest...or yourself...whichever you prefer :)

you confuse something , sedo is a platform buy and sell domains and parking , parked.com is only parking domains,

LOL...and you missed Fabulous at #6 with a ranking of 65,597...or #5 five if you discount Sedo.

Point is you can throw all the numbers you want to prove who is the best, but at the end of the day, it comes down to earnings and Parked delivers for most, if not all it's clients, on a regular basis.

The rankings you've shown, have proved nothing, just in your own head. They don't mean per se that you will earn more. According to your numbers Bodis.com would be a better platform than Parked with a ranking of 111,762, but do you really believe that?

My old man once told me that if you can't stun them with facts, dazzle em' with bulls**t. Your post is a fine example. IMHO

what are you talking ? parked gives 0.0000000000001 for 1 click at a lot countries.it is comedy.I just show that parked is not popular , people dont choose them dont visit their site ,if you think why people dont choose parked because people dont want to risk their hard earned revenue by easy ban system. And many people accuse parked for making fraud by not giving revenue.

Most people that scream the most about getting kicked out because of commiting fraud are actually the ones who commit it. You seem to be making a lot of noise about it. Did you get kicked out perhaps??

Go Park where you want to. Just don't come in here slagging off a company that has a solid reputation, especially here on namepros.

Take your agenda and go somewhere else.

Thread and Forum cleaned up ...

Report stuff folks - Do not prolong it by answering people only here to stir crap up.

BTW - Those Alexa stats make little sense. #1 You're not using the main site domains on a few companies #2 Alexa means absolutely NOTHING to begin with ...

Now we return you to your regularly scheduled Programming :p

It wasn't pretty! Why do people act like that? I can't imagine what's going on in their brain.

Bumping my question re. 404s...Donny will we be getting stats on these soon do you know? I'm getting quite a few at the moment and it would be great to know what domains they are on so I can try to do some development there. Apologies if this facility is already there, all this domain parking wears on the eyes a bit!

Tom,
Yes it will be available soon along with quite a bit more information as well. And the best part is the stats will be much faster than they are today. If you have a lot of domains it will definitely help.

Colour me dumb Donny, but how will this additional info help us optimise our domains?:)

Assuming people who land on 404s get redirected to the landing page (which one we don't know at the moment) then we'll be able to optimise that landing page. I'm under the impression that 404's don't also appear as visitors.

That's the way I'm seeing it anyway, perhaps I'm missing something??
