Yes I mean things like subdomain.mydomain.com. What issues do you mean? Brands? (You wrote about dell...) So this problem would be there even with normal domains. ActiveAudience for example seems to have a list of brand names and doesnt come in domains or subdomains that contains a brand name. And if it is a failure the parker can send an email to the support.
I cant think of other issues...

The Keywords relevant to the traffic... There I dont know how other parking-companies are doing it. I think they will check them manually from a account manager. He looks over the 15 words and when they are ok its fine.
Maybe a automatism could be built in this way: Taking all 15 or maybe 10 words. Making a keywordcheck with for example "google keyword tool" and making a list of all results. And when all words are in the list (except the partlist from the one that is checked) they will be relevant to each other. Maybe the main-keyword should be in the list too. If the other keywords arent relevant it could be seen.
Dont know if I wrote understandable...

Greetings!
Sebastian

I haven't seen any parking company that let you do sub-domain.
Or, had I been blind?

We used to allow sub-domains, but then you have some company who came to us. They owned, the trademark imaginarycompany laptop, and let's say that laptop.com was parked with us they would then type in imaginarycompany.laptop.com and we would show subdomain specific results based on subdomain+domain, which they would then say is a violation of their trademark.

So to stop as many lawsuits as possible, we don't customize subdomains.

So how do others protect themselfes?

I expect you'd have to ask the others. And as far as manually overseeing the keywords - that would be a pretty big task; as I understand it, Parked has more domains than most if not all parking companies - what might scale for others might not necessarily scale for them.

SebastianJu - We do show imaginarycompany.computer.com, but it will be completely based on computer.com and not on the subdomain.

@netmeg

But I think only some of these domains would be become own keywords. Most of them wouldnt. So it would be less work.
And on the other hand there could be some automatism like I described. (Maybe not good enough...)

Greetings!

You mean so you can see the revenue from referrals too? It usually comes out two days after.. so tomorrow probably.

The numbers were finalized yesterday, but we don't press the big red magic button until 2 days after the pay period. This basically sends all of the payment information to our accounting group. So I assume it will be done today.

Hey,

Did anyone notice a large amount of 404's on Saturday, August 2nd? I have generally only had 1 or 2 a day, but on Saturday I had over 30. Is there any way we can contact support and find out where they are all coming from?

Fragger - Just contact your account manager, they can tell you. Or just PM me your username and what domain and I'll take a look today.

Ok, today, I have noticed a major problem. I have only checked about 4-5 domains, but all of a sudden my domains are showing all generic ad links, completely unrelated to my keywords. For example, a domain WeddingBands.(ect) is showing ads for real estate, vacation, technology, ect. Even when the keyword is set to "wedding bands". I have checked about 5 domains thus far and they are all like this.

EDIT: I have now checked 15 random domains, and 14 out of 15 do not have ads relating to the keywords I set. Instead, they all show the same 4 different ad categories.... "Real Estate" "Vacation" "Technology" and "Health and Beauty". Is anyone else experiencing the same thing. Also, all of my domains I have checked that used to have 1 page landers because the domain name was completely generic to the keyword, have now gone to unrelated 2 page landers.

Upon looking further, it seems that my .com, .net, .org names are fine. However, all my .in, co.in, ect names are these 4 generic keywords.

Just to clarify this. Yahoo launched a new product on accident and our system was not prepared for it. Once we found out about it, we made the changes necessary to handle that new market. I just got off the phone with them and they said it would be rolled back soon.

I would expect that the rollout to happen sometime in the early part of September.

Thanks for the quick PM btw. Most of my names are back to normal... except for the fact that a lot of my names that were very generic are no longer 1 page landers. i.e FreeCreditReports.co.in, Scrapbooks.in, ect.. those kind of names. So is this rollout going to be greater ad coverage for countries like India? Or is the rollout going to be only generic ads like the ones I was temporarily seeing? Just currrrrrrrrious. :]

India should be one of our normal countries that Yahoo supports, once the rollout does happen.

From what they are saying there will be many other countries as well. But I'm not going to hold my breath.
