The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.

packrat, mine did something a little weird, seemed to go up and then down, the up was something like 14 dollars above estimate, the down then went something like 50 below the original estimate. Weird.

Good to see I'm not alone. I've asked Donny to take a look at it. It sort of makes
arbitrage not such a good idea after all :)

winfreecash - Thanks for the excellent explanation of the Domainers Choice Awards. I think any awards are better than the current ones that are given out. I remember I think at the last show I attended Sedo won an award for best "new" program, but considering the program had been out for over 2 years, just didn't make sense.

Good luck.

I'm beginning to think the same thing. :td:

"The following website types will be penalized with low landing page quality scores. If we receive complaints about ads for websites of this kind, they will not be allowed to continue running.
Data collection sites that offer free items, etc., in order to collect private information
Arbitrage sites that are designed for the purpose of showing ads..."

The above is a quote from that Google page you pointed me to. It seems that Google
doesn't actually disallow arbitrage. They won't actually kill your ads unless someone complains. I would think that would be rather rare. After all, I'm providing links to things that people are looking for and that advertisers are paying for. It seems that
the worse that can happen is that my pages get penalized with low quality scores and so it costs me more to run arbitrage. I'm pretty sure Google immediately knows that my
sites are parked pages as soon as they spider them.

Google doesn't like arbitrage, but they don't disallow it outright. It's a slippery slope, and they can't really define it precisely because as soon as they do, a million people will try to take advantage of whatever they definitively say is okay. So they don't definitely say anything, and hope to control it via algorithm (i.e. low quality score)

Actually, my estimates adjusted way UP for yesterday's earnings.

I just voted for Donny as my choice for "Industry Customer Service Rep"

and Parked.com as my choice for "Parking Company Award"

at http://www.domainerschoiceawards.com :tu:

I'd like to vote for Donny as well, but they ask for first and last name.

Could someone tell me Donny's last name :red:

GIL :)

For "Industry Customer Service Rep "

Donny's name is listed "Donny Simonton Parked.com "

just check the circle and submit

"Must include first and last names to be included." is for people that are not on the list, Donny is

Nice interface - pretty landers - but ....

I am somewhat disillusioned with parked.com
I started out with nearly 100 domains.
The most visitors I got in one day was 41.

After 1 week my CTR is 6.13% - total clicks 13 - total earnings in 10 days $3.23

I am certainly giving all I can Donny, this year is shaping up to be super! With the support, participation and input from the community, it will get better every year!

For reasons like the example you quoted, it is my goal for the DomainersChoiceAwards to be the important ones to win. I want every part of the industry to work harder to be the domainers choice, not just somebody recognized by a small group.

Thanks johname as well as r72gs I've already voted for Donny who amazes me by the amount of time he spends here at NamePros helping us out. Sometimes it seems he spends more time here than at Parked, but obviously I'm wrong. It's just that he must be really good at managing his time.

Had quite a few clicks today and they paid pretty well, .20-.50 each was impressed, lets see if they go up even more or down after the "adjustment period".

My tax and other financial domains have taken quite a hit lately. Yahoo must be rating them down for some reason. Not sure why that is or what contributes to it.

Donny, do you know whether Yahoo/Ask are re-evaluating anything or why there's a sudden drop of value?

Donny,

My answer time for trouble tickets is allways 2-3 days... now whe are 5 days with the one that i have opened...

Please review that, im have never x hours responses as you have told.

Another question that i have asked without responses... the account managers in Parked are available to help us optimizing our parked pages?

Thanks.

German2006 - When you evaluate each account manager, the numbers do vary, it also depends on the time of the week. Some account managers, do work 24 hours a day including weekends and some do not. All account managers are available to help with optimizing domains, but you will need to work with your account manager on that. Just remember they are only as good as the domains.

IntelBank - I have not heard of any recent changes in Yahoo.
