Yeah I see these 2 new columns too... searches and 404's.

Searches and 404s have been added on the main dashboard. In the next week or so they will be added to the domain level reports as well.

Searches is every search that is done per day, minus spiders/bots.
404s are when a person goes to computer.com/alskdjlakjdlaskjd

So what exactly does "seaches" specify? Is this the number of searches done on our domains? Because my searches column outweighs my visitors column.

Ok. Nevermind. It appears as I was asking my question donny decided to read my mind and beat me to it. :tu:

And I would also like to add that things seem to be getting a little better as far as parking goes. Not on all my parking companies, but at least at parked. My RPM is averaging about $90 this month which is higher than normal. :$: :$:

Yes, thanks NetMeg :)

Cool; thanks. More people do searches than I'd have thought.

Hmm...where do you see the search queries?

We don't see the queries, just the number of searches. I'm assuming that 'search' means someone typed something into the search box - is that not the case?

searches - every search done per day on my domain?

404's - why would a 404 occur?....because the parked site doesn't load?...

Old cached page, for one.

Thanks again.
...
Would be nice to see what people are searching for, though ;)

A search is any time somebody clicks on anything. So on the landing page, it's a search box or if somebody clicks on any of the links. That is a search.

As far as a 404, it could be a broken image, or basically anything. But we still show something.

Wow! I WISH my searches were CLICKS! :)

This is one of the reasons we haven't shown them in the past. In many cases they are very high. Usually because of some type of bot.

Ah ok - so a search is the first click on a two-click lander. I was thinking it was the search box.

Yea, that bot from yesterday went ballistic on my domains.

I think the searches imply the related search terms clicked on. So a visitor could have clicked on maybe 5-6 related search terms before finally clicking/not clicking through on an advertisement.

I'm still not sure about the 404...

Edited: Okay... got the answer while I was writing this... :)

404's would be Parked.com's responsibility for not properly showing page??

Tony - 404's we do take care of. We show pages today. The difference is I'm now telling you that you are getting 404's as before I was not.

If you type in one of your domains like this: www.yourdomain.com/netmeg.html - well you obviously don't have a page called netmeg.html on your parked domain. Parked will still show your parked page with all the proper links on it (and you'll get credit for the clicks if someone clicks on something) - but it'll just return a 404 (which you can see in the address bar) because that's not actually a valid page. And presumably, it'll return a 404 *header*, so that any toolbar you happen to have installed, like Google or Yahoo, won't think that it's a valid url and index it.

@netmeg.....ok....just didnt think 404's would appear on parked pages....since there is no other pages than the url itself...
