Pagerank question - Easy one I think

I have always wondered...

Let's say I have developed the website "Birds.com". Then I decide to forward my domain name "Pigeons.com" to the page on birds.com about pigeons. Does pigeons.com itself build pagerank, SE results position, etc. from any traffic that goes through it to birds.com.

In other words, if a ton of traffic is coming to my "pigeons" page through my forwarded pigeons.com, and then I decouple the two domain names, would pigeons.com have any residual pagerank?

Thanks!

When you redirect they become like 1 site. So once you remove the redirection it be on its own and none of the page rank will move over.

I had a feeling - its really the only think that makes sense. Still good for promotion - to promote the .com generic even if it redirects(?)

I guess what makes sense is keeping track of traffic to the page of my main site, and fully developing the domains that could get traffic on their own.

Anyway, thanks.
