Page for directory reciprocal links?

As some directories require a link to their site placed on your page, do those links have to be on your sites home page, or can they be placed on a page specifically for directory links? Does it even matter?

Every directory has different policies regarding this. In my directories, I accept reciprocal links on links page but the links page should be linked from their homepage. Most directories won't approve your submission if you place the link at Links page and it is not linked from your homepage.

I have 6 directories and what they
mentioned above is what I look for.
Doesn't matter to me where the link is on the
site, as long as people can get to it from a link
off the url you are submitting to the directory.
If the recip page has no connection to the submitted
url, I don't approve them.
