“5” represents their cap on buyer’s premium....
Would be interesting to see how the 5 in the brand works when the get really big and become greedy or the founders exit to a Private Equity.

The domain name L5.com sold last year on Sedo fo $95k but who bought and why? Well it becomes clear once you read today’s post

Great breakdown—this really connects the dots between the price, the branding, and the long-term strategy. The Hercules/L5 symbolism paired with a 5% fee cap is especially clever and feels authentic to the mission.

Securing a two-letter .com at that price looks like a smart, conviction-driven move.

You know you're a domainer when you read that as "5L" at first.

Im supposed that 9 out of 10 the buyer is Chinese investors, as you know “5” is so popular number in Chinese means "net",“network" or the number sounds like "me" in Chinese

Chinese investors love the numbers like"1" "5",“6” ,“8”,9“ "2"

"7" is also a good number 7 days a week
“3” most widely used in gaming stands for "Kill"
"4" is bad and unlucky number for Chinese people because it sounds like "die" in Chinese,in some cases "4" is also a good number means "everything sound and safe",in most cases ,Chinese dislike the number"4"

BTW “5” in English means "victory" just like the phrase give me five (5)
