Verisign is reporting that the number of .Com domain names has topped 120 Million for the 1st time and likewise the number of domain names active in the .Com zone file top 119 million.

The active zone as of 09/29/2015 contains 119,168,262 .COM domain names.

Oh thanks for info. I thought about something like that, so they dont had any letters in mind and invented .xyz extension which was purchased only by Google for one of their press realease and which they decided to publish on that extension..lol

xyz means from what I know about it, all that entails the prefix name...like soup.xyz meaning all things related to soup

They are all doing bad, resold generally within domainers..curently there is totally sold 7.9 mln new tld's (all together) and it makes only 6.6% of registered .com (120 mln)

Do active domains go out for walks in the evenings, whereas inactive ones just sit and eat popcorn whilst watching Dancing with the Stars?

Do active domains go hiking in the mountains on the weekends, surviving on multi-vitamins and granola, whereas inactive domains watch racy shows with lots of sex scenes, and then fall asleep on the couch.

Please enlighten me. What are inactive domains?

Is it like they're dormant, in hibernation waiting for spring to roll around?
