Over 1,000 Uniques Daily Just Started Happening To One Of My Domains

I own the domain:

U-P-Z.COM & recently a couple days ago, I noticed a huge increase in visitors to my site. Currently, I am getting over 1,000 unique visitors.

I'd like to see about monetizing ads from this traffic. I'm afraid to park U-P-Z.COM because this can hurt my uniques coming in daily.

If anyone can suggest how to convert this traffic into money, I'm all ears. I know with 1,000 uniques a day, I can convert something from nothing. I do have adwords ads, but these are only generating between $1 - $3 USD daily.

Thanks for the feedback.

Are these visitors clicking? It could be a stuck bot. Best of luck if it's not - that means it's likely you are getting typos from somebody else's new marketing campaign probably.

I see a open directory when i use your domain.

The first step you should is to install some analytics so you can determine where that traffic is coming from.

Go to www.getclicky.com and open a trial account, this allows you to quickly see where that traffic is coming from.
Obtain the tracking code and install it on your pages.

Then if you can spot a steady pattern in the type of searches or website referrers, you can match an affiliate offer with the type of traffic you're receiving.

Let us know when you find out more.

Strange, that's a lot of traffic for a (no offence intended) near-regfee name that does nothing for me whatsoever. Too many hyphens i would never type that in. Many developed sites never get that much traffic. Probably a glitch, but definately find out where its all coming from - do let us know as its quite interesting :imho:

I had a domain at sedo that suddenly got a bunch of traffic starting on the 1st.

in the first three days of July: 11,000 unique views, 1,800 clicks.

normally it gets 75 views per month.

nope! lol

it was a .PRO domain too! :)

as soon as I noticed the surge (late on the 1st), I changed nameservers and pointed the domain to a blank webpage.

the sedo hits continued until mid-day on the 3rd. I suppose that was due to nameserver caches and TTLs. it was interesting that the blank webpage I set up did not get a huge number of hits. perhaps the traffic was keyed to sedo nameservers somehow.
