Hello Mods & Mems,

I am dev'n a site looking to move into international
sales of American classic muscle cars.

After sorting through 1000's of possibilities these two
were found by another member and we decided to reg
both.
Now we must decide which one to mount and at this
point I ask for your input and advice.

The names are:

CaliforniaCarClassics.com

I like this for the possibilities around CCC
and that California suggests muscle car
without having to add the fourth word.

ShopMuscleCars.com

This name has its own possibilities as it
states the obvious, shop for muscles cars.
It just doesnt roll off the tongue as well as
the other in my opinion though.

Please answer the poll and comment why
you chose one over the other.

Thank you to all for taking this time to help out.

Peace,
Cyberian

CaliforniaCarClassics.com

Has some nice alliteration

CCC is also nice, and plenty of good logos come to mind

I like how it rolls off the tongue

good luck

I like the second as it can be used more widely. Some people not in Cal may not go to it because they think it is for Cal's only. Both are nice! Good luck with the site and let me know how it turns out!

I like the second as well because it is more generic tho the first might do better PPC-wise

Thanks for your answers and comments so far.

I should have stated that the market we are looking to
move into is the international sales of American muscle
cars.

One important thing to consider when buying a classic car
is where the car has been registered most of its life.

A 40yo car in a climate where they use salt on the roads during
winter will be full of underside rust. California suggests otherwise.

Please keep the comments coming and vote if you will, as the vote
is what I intend to show the customer, since we are both undecided
which will play out best in the long run.

CaliforniaCarClassics i like more :) ... it sounds better than shopmusclecars + it's easier to remember imho

Definitely CaliforniaCarClassics.com

It just sounds much better and it looks better. It gives of a professional impression instead of ShopMuscleCars.com which in my opinion sounds a bit spammy.

Like "Well MuscleCars.com is taken what other option is there? Ah... just throw in "Shop" in front of it and where good to go!"

CaliforniaCarClassics.com has my vote!

Gotta go with the CCC
CaliforniaCarClassics.com sounds much better, and I think it has more potential.
Good luck, and send a link after you dev. it, I love classic cars.

I initially liked shopmusclecars.com since its direct and covers the subject over all. But at the same time it kind a does not have originality. After reading your following post. I voted for californiacarclassics.com

Good luck,

GH

it looks like more votes for ccc. So I will vote for the second one. So you may not like what I have to say
My reasons:
1. california is too long to type
2. muscle is more descriptive than california.
3. shop is a nice key word to describe your business nature.

BTW, instead of cars, you may also try the key word "auto" or "wheels"

No man, I like what you are saying. Thats what I need is the why's about which name is better suited. Thanks for taking the time.
Also we searched auto, but did not search wheels... the word autos is more likely to be used in a different context than a search for classic or muscle.

My '68 Fairlane likes CCC.
With the 289, 390 or 426? In any case, a very classic muscle car! :)

Thanks to everyone so far, please continue.

The more input from our NamePros the clearer my decision
will be when I explain to the customer why this over that.

Voted for the CCC mostly due to the alliteration and brandability - I typically don't like any name that includes the verb "shop" or "buy" unless they are single words ( buy.com , shop.com ) or select doubles ( buynames.com buygold.com etc.).

Also, "shop" has too many different meanings in context, at least imho when my first impression was that it might be a "shop" (the noun) where custom work is done - or some photoshop competition (ok, that one's a stretch...).

In any event, CCC it is! :tu:

I would vote for ShopMuscleCars.com

The name itself suggest some power.

Hi, I really like ccc but I already forgot the name from a few days ago. I forgot if it was californiaclassiccars or californiacarclassics :'(
But I did remember shopmusclecars VERY easily. :) It tells you right away its about Sales. I voted for shopmusclecars. Good luck!

Although I like the idea of the CCC, I voted for ShopMuscleCars.com because in addition to the previously stated reasons, it has a more natural order of wording. I can't get past the wording appearing backwards to me with CaliforniaCarClassics.

For example, if you had CaliforniaClassicCars.com, it would be naturally worded and my opinion would steer that direction.

Overall though, you can't go wrong with either. Best of luck!

CaliforniaCarClassics.com has my vote!

The alliteration gives it a better effect :hehe:

Ok, that was the 3rd or 4th time that word has been used in this thread.

I figured it was time to look it up since I had NO clue.

alยทlitยทerยทaยทtion

NOUN:

The repetition of the same sounds or of the same kinds of sounds at the beginning of words or in stressed syllables, as in "on scrolls of silver snowy sentences" (Hart Crane). Modern alliteration is predominantly consonantal; certain literary traditions, such as Old English verse, also alliterate using vowel sounds.

^^^ Just in case I wasn't alone.

Again I want to thank everyone for taking the time, and I notice the gap has closed considerably, so now it becomes difficult again....

Yesterday I set up the email for @ CaliforniaCarClassics thinking 70% of the vote was a good indicator... today I hedged my bet and set up the other addy as well.

Please keep them coming...

Peace,
Cyberian

The poll is seperated by less tha 2 votes. You may just want to have 2 almost identical sites or have 1 redirect to the other. Just an idea.
