Hello Mods & Mems,

I am dev'n a site looking to move into international
sales of American classic muscle cars.

After sorting through 1000's of possibilities these two
were found by another member and we decided to reg
both.
Now we must decide which one to mount and at this
point I ask for your input and advice.

The names are:

CaliforniaCarClassics.com

I like this for the possibilities around CCC
and that California suggests muscle car
without having to add the fourth word.

ShopMuscleCars.com

This name has its own possibilities as it
states the obvious, shop for muscles cars.
It just doesnt roll off the tongue as well as
the other in my opinion though.

Please answer the poll and comment why
you chose one over the other.

Thank you to all for taking this time to help out.

Peace,
Cyberian

Although I prefer the sound of CCC, I don't associate California with muscle cars and so I voted for the shop muscle car domain. Then again I don't have a lot of interest in muscle cars and so I don't know how well they associate together. I see California and think that it is a localised site.

While i like the CCC better, i think that the SMC will yield better success, it's straight forward, points immediately towards the content: Sales of Muscle Cars.

The CCC simple sounds better in its abbreviation, however, since you're not selling abbreviations the SMC is the way to go.

SMC has my vote.

ccc

For me, California Classic Cars, sounds smoother, and is easier to say than SHOP MUSCLE CARS. I think of "Shop muscle", more than "muscle cars". Go with the first!

Classic cars and Muscle Cars are really two different genre's. Sure a muscle car can be a classic, and a classic car can be a muscle car, but take a 40 year old Caddy...sure, a classic, but not a muscle car.

I dunno.

Classic cars to me = Beauty, Rarity, Vintage

Muscle cars to me = Power, Masculine, Raw

Which are you planning on marketing?

I like the term "muscle cars" and it is very common but I don't like "shop" before it.

I would consider a third name with musclecars in it.

Hate to crimp things but something just struck me and is available.

MuscleCarFever-com -- also MuscleCarSpot and MuscleCarTimes

Sorry but I am not fond of the 2 original names -- but then what do I know?

That is a bit of the problem, he buys and sells both classic and muscle... and tho both are vintage all 3 words suggest different schools of thought as well as taste.
Hey, nothing is written is stone, and I want to thank you Hark I will bring those other possibilities to his attention. Some really good input from the posters give me more to give him because in the long run it's not my call.

Thanks...

(My '68 Fairlane likes CCC.)

With the 289, 390 or 426? In any case, a very classic muscle car! :)
None of the above - a lowly 200 --- lowly in the amount of gas it drinks (~22 MPG average) and Muscle in the sense of a distance runner --- 285,000 miles + on the original engine, running fine. And NAPA still stocks nearly any part I need.

I bought it in 1977.
My best friend.

The second because its generic.
The other could be useful in targetting a particulr market segment
