My site is in need of a new design. THIS is what I came up with off the top of my head. This is ONLY a mockup. If I decide to go with this design it WILL NOT be all flash as it is now. Everything can be done with HTML & CSS. Also, it is designed for 1024x768. If I could get some constructive criticism & suggestions on the design I would appreciate it.

it looks quite nice layout is different

few things though

a) seems very dark and dull imo its upt to you but id brighten it up a bit

b) looks a bit rough mainly around the image on the top right of the layout may wanna smooth that out a bit

c) on the flash frame theres no bar to tell me how far im gone down, i feel quite lost without it just a sugguestion

I like it a lot, very original.

The only thing is that you are not making use of the space, so why design for 1024x768.

Great job!

Yeah, never seen a design like that before. The space between the objects is too great, imo. The text at the bottom left corner - "Absolute Innovations" is somewhat hard to see (because of its color). The wire with the buttons on it on the menu seems to just cut off (perhaps you could stretch the wire a bit more and end it the way it starts). I'm guessing your going to re-create the scrollbar, and am hoping the new one will be smoother.

Overall, it's a nice design, never seen anything like it before. Just get rid of the vast empty spaces between objects.

most people USE 800x600, not me... but lots of people do, also, i suggest making to content area MUCH bigger, or you can just design for 800x600 because its watsed space, other than this, its very nice, and looks like a great idea

I agree that the design is clearly original. But it si dark and with the red line under the left top, it somehow resembless a crime scene. Also the menu should be more easy to find.

The site is too dark, to my eye.

Some of the nav text is too cryptic to be of much use. Make things easy (not mysterious) for your visitor.

The text area at top left is a bit small. Why do I need to scroll down to read such a small amount of info?

Have the body text proof-read. You have things like "companies" when you mean "company's". I wouldn't be encouraged to think you'd bother with my website, if you haven't made your own absolutely pristine and correct.

Most customers might not want 'cutting edge' anything. They only want a website if it will increase their profit, and it's your job to tell them why you can help, not lay them out with your undoubted graphical skills.

Ask any marketer, and you'll be told it's the WORDS that sell...

The rest just makes it look nice.

HTH (and remember, these are only opinions). :tri:

make the red lumenescent (?) like the XBox Green is against black - I think that would make things stand out.

when the top right graphic animates, the background color doesn't match the page background

I assume the fixed width x height (won't stretch or shrink right now) is temporary.

Wow guys!! I can't believe all the great feedback. Everyone's suggestions is appreciated. I'm going to work a little more on it, incorporate some of the suggestions, and I'll post back with an update. Thanks again to everyone who took the time to check it out!

I do like it :) Other than what has already been said about marketing your services better and using up more of the screen space, I would kill the bevel on the left box, its a tired old effect and doesn't really match the more futuristic right style.

Love the navigation, its good to see something different :)

how's it coming? Any update? I wanna see what happened with their suggestion, well, basically the only thing I would like to remind you is the contrast principle.

I guess the text would be easy to read if you'll jst use a plain background color to emphasize the black colo for the font's if you use dark background use a light color for your text or perhaps white. To make sure that your viewers or users can see them clearly. I learned that from my visual communication subject.

The design id ok for me. I like that you'll be original on it. If the dark colors will be apt for your personality then go with it.

Hope to hear from you. :)

OK...I've come up with something different. Same color scheme, but different design. Click Here to see the new design.
Just a couple of notes: the upper right "frame" is blank, I am working on it at the moment. As before, all the feedback and suggestions you guys can give will be appreciated. Thanks!
PS...I haven't thrown the previous design in the trash...still working to improve it. Just wanted to see if which design you guys think is better.

The new design is too dark to read on my CRT screen without adjusting settings...

You do lean toward the 'dark' in your designs, it would seem.

Nothing wrong with that, but keep it legible. It's the WORDS that sell! Or so conventional wisdom has it.

I've changed to font color from black to a lighter color. Hopefully that will help make the text more legible.
