Hello,

I'd like to draw your attention to a beautiful young dog named "Mercy" who desperately needs your help. She's under the care of Operation Kindness, the largest and oldest NO-KILL shelter in North Texas. Mercy is one of their very special needs homeless animals. Her story is truly horrific.

Mercy was deliberately doused with gasoline, lit on fire and left to die. She was rescued by a Good Samaritan on Good Friday and is now in the care of Operation Kindness and receiving treatment for her wounds. Poor Mercy has been through horrific torture and abuse, she was burned over 60% of her body.

Absolutely Lyte!

Operation Kindness are great people doing important things. My family already makes regular donations to them, are we are proud to do our small part to help. I encourage anybody who cares about animals, and can afford to donate, to do what they can. Every dollar helps, not only this dog, but many-many other animals.

I have followed this story on the local news. While it shows there are some sick and twisted people in the world, it also shows there are some kind, generous and truly good folks who are fighting to help make a difference for these animals.

It's unfortunate that it sometimes takes a horrible act of cruelty to get people's attention to a deserving cause, but I try not to dwell on that, and instead take comfort in knowing that the person who did this will receive his just punishment one day, whether it be at the hands of man or a higher power.

db, you're so right! There are some sick, twisted people out there but let's focus our energy into something positive!

The most amazing thing about animals, dogs in particular is how they are able to bounce back emotionally. But poor Mercy needs our help to rehabilitate her physically!

gchick, I think that's a great idea! If a ribbon was set up for her I would be very happy to give what I have. :tu:
