What are your thoughts on .online domains?
It's very generic and not as ugly as .xyz for example, so that's a plus - but perhaps a little too long to have any success...
Plus most good names are either unavailable or premium...

I agree with Offersity. And may keep learnfrench.online.
It doesnt really have to be a big issue with the under 3$ transfer and renewal at West.xyz.

Unfortunately the west.xyz site really needs a LOT of work. It's hard to tell if it's even a legit site (???). West.xyz has typos, poor translations, buttons in chinese, links sending me to pages in chinese, just really looks very sketchy and hastily made overall. The domain uses whois privacy; appears to be for sale on sedo for $2K; their PayPal email (bd at west263.com) is mostly associated with a bunch of NNN.date domains, and the email associated with west263.com is also associated with what google thinks is some sort of malware site. west263.com forwards to west.cn but that doesn't tell me anything; anyone can forward anything anywhere.

I would highly recommend that anyone looking into using west.xyz proceed with extreme caution (honestly probably not at all at this point).

Personally, I'm not willing to risk my money, domains, or time. I'd rather pay $20 to transfer somewhere more reputable. At the end of the day, when something sells, I don't mind asking a customer to open up a namecheap or name.com account, but I would never ask them to mess around with west.xyz.

BTW, minimum top-up amount by PayPal is $26-something, so there's no way to try just a couple transfers to see if it's even doable.

West.cn/en shows the west.xyz page including the west.xyz logo so I think we can at least say that west.xyz does belong to west.cn.......

You can't be too carefull, so we appreciate that 000 is warning us :)

But what you guys couldn't have known is that we of YourDomain.online are in close contact with the people of West.cn for a couple of days now. At the moment West.xyz is being tested, and they are working hard on the the translation and checking the links. So officially the site isn't life at the moment, but it looks it will be at the end of the month as planned.

For testing purposes we already transferred some .online's, and it works just fine. But as
000 found out for now it just isn't ready for end-users to work with. So you have to keep some more patience for a while.

As Rainmaker-NL mentioned West.cn is the company behind West.xyz, which is exclusively created for the non-chinese market. And what can we say about West.cn ... just have a look at https://ntldstats.com/registrar : they are the biggest Registrar of new gTLD's worldwide at the moment.

Ofcourse we'll keep you informed of their progress as much as possible.

I am not comfortable with west.xyz. In the transfer box, you are expected to provide domain name, aut code and your west.cn password. What do they need my password for or am I missing something?

They only need domain name and auth code.

I can confirm west.xyz is legal, I already successfully transferred 20 .online domains to them.
The first time I check this site, I think it's likely a scam, too, LOL. They use @gmail.com for their Paypal account, the domain West.xyz is for sale on Sedo, their skype contact information is very unprofessional.

Unlucky that I don't know they was launched earlier, already transferred many other .online to 1and1.com with $15.17 for each :(

Maybe I'll give them a shot in the future once they get their ish together. As of now, there are WAY too many red flags. Why would they release such an unfinished product in the first place? Very unprofessional. This all sounds like a very good way to have domains stolen... and what're you gonna do then? I see very little reason to trust this company. I can just think of the excuses now...

Sorry - your account got hacked? Darn, we didn't get around to security yet! That site is only in beta!

Sorry - you must have hit the wrong button! I don't know what happened to your domains! Did you try translating the button before clicking it?

Sorry - we can't transfer your domains away from us unless you xxxxxx. You should have read the full terms! Oh, they were in chinese? Should've translated!

Sorry - we auto-renew domains 250 days before expiration, just to be sure you don't lose your valuable names! Should've read the terms! No refund for your $8,000 order!
