What are your thoughts on .online domains?
It's very generic and not as ugly as .xyz for example, so that's a plus - but perhaps a little too long to have any success...
Plus most good names are either unavailable or premium...

GoDaddyGoDaddy
Found some sites I hadn't seen before and figured I'd share:

Peel.online (town of Peel, Isle of Man)
Their site logo says Peel.online. Gotta say it's definitely sexier than PeelOnline.net.

Knees.online (home appliance and furniture retailer, in business since 1879)
An old business embracing a new gTLD... gasp! They're even using their .online for email.

Chernobyl.online (Chernobyl - 30 years later. Online tour)

UDV.online (dentistry school in Andorra)
Seems like they may be switching from their shorter cctld to .online

Taste.online (specialty food store chain in Hampton Roads, Virginia, in business since 1973)
They have switched their email addresses to .online

Treebank.online (commissioned by the University of Bristol)

SaintJoe.online (high-tech elementary school in Los Angeles)

Epicurean.online (London event for wine, beer, spirits and fine food)
Also using their .online for email

Harvest.online (global equity fund)
Also using their .online for email

ApplianceOutlet.online (appliance store in Pennsylvania, in business since 1997)
They seem to have moved their site from .us to .online

So much for end users hating on new gtld's... :xf.grin:

One metric to consider is the number of ngTLD sites found for each ngTLD in the Alexa Top 1 Million list.

According to namestat.org, here are the top 10 ngTLD's using that measure:

#1 .xyz: 3,335 sites (previous 30 days: -54) (launched 6/2014)
#2 .club: 1,027 sites (previous 30 days: -13) (launched 5/2014)
#3 .top: 891 sites (previous 30 days: +70) (launched 11/2014)
#4 .online: 840 sites (previous 30 days: +199) (launched 8/2015 - tied for youngest on the list with #9)
#5 .site: 523 sites (previous 30 days: +143) (launched 7/2015)
#6 .link: 304 sites (previous 30 days: -1) (launched 4/2014)
#7 .space: 300 sites (previous 30 days: +59) (launched 1/2015)
#8 .website: 243 sites (previous 30 days: +9) (launched 9/2014)
#9 .tech: 242 sites (previous 30 days: +35) (launched 8/2015)
#10 .news: 217 sites (previous 30 days: +21) (launched 7/2015)

This speaks very well for .online. In the last 30 days, .online has added more sites to the Alexa Top 1 Million list than any other ngTLD. It's also #4 on the overall Alexa list, despite having only been around for one year.

IMHO, .online may be the "single best" new gtld out there.

Yes, .online has goods stats on growth, developed sites, spam etc etc. Spam rate from .online is lower than from .com........

Looks like they went back to redirecting it to their .com

If that was the opening offer, yes, I'd reject but it's a darn good price. I'd sell after negotiating more.

We just chatted with Prasanna K. about this matter, and he came up with a better way to start the ticket (after creating your account ofcourse) : just contact their chat support at https://chat.hostgator.com/#start_chat . Once you are in live chat, please ask the chat support to create a ticket to transfer the domain names. Once the ticket is created they can proceed further with the transfer.

If you nevertheless encounter problems, just let us know.
I am having a lot of challenges transferring to hostgator. I was still unable to get things sorted out.as at yesterday. The man I chatted with said Prasanna K wasnt available

Oh wow. Almost worth learning a new language just for a deal like that! :ahhh:

I don't know much about west.cn. If it were truly usable in the US, a price like that could be a game-changer...

hi, it is coming ------------ https://www.west.xyz/

I tried to register an account, using Google Translate, but the process didn't pass because my 'real name' didn't contain Chinese characters, and my telephone number (+31 6 nn nn nn nn) seemed to be not right. I tried to get in contact with their helpdesk, but to do so, I needed to have an account ...

Does anyone know how to solve these two problems ?

That's weird, we also can't get in touch with Prasanna K., we're waiting now for three days but nothing heard yet. Looks like some people in the organization didn't like what he/she was doing regarding the transfers of .online's. Suppose they feared the manually handling of the expected big tsunami of .online's once you domainers had taken good notice of it.

Guess West.xyz will make up for that soon, see the posts of ambrose.xu.
