What are your thoughts on .online domains?
It's very generic and not as ugly as .xyz for example, so that's a plus - but perhaps a little too long to have any success...
Plus most good names are either unavailable or premium...

Yup there are times when it is cheaper to buy a domain name in $x,xxx outright than having to deal with lawyer and all the rules...

Great News Guys,

After discussing things at HostGator starting at the end of july, we at YourDomain.online finally succeeded in getting things work with HostGator ! We actually transferred (as a tryout) 10 .online's from GoDaddy to HostGator at $ 9,95 per transfer, thanks to the great effort of Prasanna K., staff employee at HostGator.

Although transferring using their regular way at 'Transfer Domains' still isn't working for now, Prasanna K. worked out a rather easy way to make transfers of .online's possible.

Here's the deal. Start making an account at HostGator at http://support.hostgator.com/articles/hosting-guide/lets-get-started/new-account-sign-up , and be sure the creditcard that you use for billing has enough credit for the transfers you wish to make. Then gather all the EPP-keys from your current registrar (E.g. GoDaddy) for the names you wish to transfer. Then create a ticket at HostGator (I know it looks a bit fishy, but it works), and give them your .online's you wish to transfer with their respective EPP-keys. And to be sure mention Prasanna K. as a reference.

After that you'll receive a mail for each .online, with a link that you'll have to click to approve the transfer. Then your current registrar will let you know that the name(s) has been transferred out. And after some time, you'll find your transferred .online's at HostGator at their domain-page under 'Manage Domains'.

Ofcourse this is what we at YourDomain.online experienced for ourselves. So don't hold us responsible if things don't work out as intended. But the fact that we actually succeeded in those transfers for just $ 9,95 per transfer makes it worthwile to share our experience here on this Forum.
Nevertheless, if you're experiences aren't that positive, please let us know, so we can get in contact with HostGator. And if things won't work out at all, we'll be the first one to mention it on this Forum also.

Prasanna K. works as Billing Administrator at HostGator, so I suggest you to choose the Billing Department. I suppose you just give this name as reference, and they will know what to do. Besides chatting with Prasanna K. in the ticket-thread, we had no contact otherwise, so mailing / skyping is not neccesary (if possible at all).

And if you're that unlucky to get your ticket handled by someone who seems not to be informed about how to handle new .online-transfers, just ask him to get in contact with Prasanna K..

But I'm still getting problem now After I signed up new account, opened ticket about domain transfer. I received response from Prasanna K., she created the invoice for the domain transfer.

Then I received an email about "Verification Requested":

Because your payment was made with a credit or debit card, we will need a scanned copy or photograph of the credit card owner's government-issued photo id, such as a drivers license or passport. We will also need a scanned copy or photograph of the credit card used for purchase.

I replied with photographs of my government-issued ID and Visa, but they replied:

Unfortunately, we will be unable to activate your hosting account at this time using the documents you provided. We apologize for any inconvenience this has caused. If you would like to activate your account, we will require payment for the initial invoice via bank wire.

Pay via bank wire is impossible with me, because my government doesn't allow send bank wire to US.

Is there anyway can you please ask Prasanna K. to help me to active my account?
