Renewals on average cost $30 / year. At least with an .IO it is catchy for tech start-ups, so $30 ain't too big of a deal.
So $30 for renewals of .io is ok but $30 for .online is not? Not following that logic. .IO is catchy for tech start ups but what other domains work with it?
$30 is too high for any extension though!
.online makes sense if it is something that you would be doing online like PayBills.online, FindPeople.online,
SellStuff.online, Quotes.online etc etc
If the domain and activity goes with "Online", then it has appeal, sounds and looks good, will be sought after, and therefore have some value.
Now reg'n PullingTeeth.online is just painful to look at and can't be done "online".
At least .online isn't as useless and bad looking as .xyz. Now that is a bad extension, I don't care how many registrations it has. You guys can't seriously think there is more than 5 domains that work with that. I don't care if google owns one or 1000 of them.
Out of all the junk that ICANN has let come out, .online is one of better, if not best, extensions.
It's not too long. Look at how much crap we write on this forum! Oh we couldn't possible type in 3 more letters or finger cramps or even death could result. I would rather type a few more letters than have an extension that just makes no sense or is confusing like some of the shorter ones.
Alot of people don't know what some of these extensions mean. .IO sounds like "I owe"! .gdn sounds and looks like "God D-mn" or is it short for "google domain name"? There is a .Nom.es! NOMES wtf!
Let's not forget the .xn--6frz82g. Now tell me there is anybody out there that uses that. Maybe one in 10million or less. I don't know what it means, don't care, and the general public doesn't either as far as I know. Most people don't even know there is anything other than a couple main extensions.
After .com I would put .online before .net, .org, and .info as far as having relevant keywords that could be used with it.
That's just me though.
Where do you guys see .online being placed after .com?
