new gtlds OneDrop.Today raises $8 million in funding: A huge success for new gTLD

A startup which uses the domain name OneDrop.Today has been awarded a funding of $8 million recently.
It does seem that domain names are not that important when it comes to funding a startup. The concept plays a bigger role.
The company goes by the tagline: Navigating Diabetes Together
It is a healthcare related startup and sets a benchmark for other startups who are still lured by their matching .COMs for their startups.

However, it will be interesting to see if they acquire their matching .COM and switch to it!!

every one might end up typing the extension as the part of domain.

Theoretically: If it will be a succesfull diabetes app, then the toilet deodorizers will be a bad product association.

The real problem: They still have not their own trademark in the health category. The trademark trolls like this.
