Hey.... Given the recent sales, are we seeing "on-chain" emerge as the next major keyword trend?

Onchain.cc - $40K
Onchain.one - $25K
Onchain.fm - $5K

your thoughts?

It kinda depends on Captain Chaos.

(to be clear, this time he only started the ball rolling, but the rumor on the street is that the largest single-day liquidation event ever in the history of crypto was caused by some technical issues)

If I had to guess I'd say same buyer.

Onchain has been a thing for a while.

I regged my first .foo, woohoo! I "always" wanted to do that. Many .foo's are costly premiums but not 'onchain' for some reason (despite 433 taken extensions).

No high hopes.

(Btw, .foo is or at least was heavily promoted on GoDaddy but you cannot list a .foo domain on Afternic. But who needs them.)

It's a good keyword and will probably only get better, at least under decent TLDs, as onchain trading has ignited this year thanks to the skyrocketing success of Hyperliquid and other onchain CLOB DEXs, but it's an old and common term and already saturated (400+ extensions, plus 78 with a hyphen).

In terms of availability/relative obscurity and relevance to where the real money is, CLOB, the system crypto is moving to for future onchain trading, is IMO a better term.

For what's going on, see/search these (since I can't link):

A1 Research - "From AMMs to CLOBs: The $7 Trillion Race to Bring Nasdaq Onchain"
Flow Traders - "The Onchain CLOB Landscape"
GTE - "Why Build Onchain CLOBs?"

Or just search the words: onchain clob dex

Lots of results now, compared to a year or so ago, before Hyperliquid's explosion, and search engine AIs now give a decent summary, but onchain CLOB DEXs are pretty much the future of crypto trading; already handling hundreds of billions in volume, and in coming years trillions.

The common term is On-chain, some of huge sector is on-chain trade. Its seem the domain on-chain. trade just registered

An on-chain trade is a transaction of digital assets, like cryptocurrencies or NFTs, that is executed and recorded directly on a blockchain's public ledger.

Once verified by the network, the trade is permanent, immutable, and fully transparent to all participants.

These trades happen without a centralized exchange or third-party intermediary, following the rules of smart contracts on decentralized exchanges (DEXs).

When it becomes common knowledge you missed the train.

Not bad for $3.

Although hyphens are never better, at least it's applicable for this term.

Per Namebio, there are only 49 total .trade sales ever, with the top price being just $10k, but most of them are in the last 2-3 years, and the highest priced ones don't seem particularly great.

OTOH some of the best/better names, like simple.trade, zen.trade or binary.trade, are by comparison giveaway prices.

Seems like Namecheap is a good place to buy that extension.

Agree, Binary. trade is awesome

Most of europe companies ( germany, netherland, Austria, etc) and Asia ( Japan, Korea, Taiwan, etc ) prefer to use hyphen domains , especially in their ccTLD extensions

If On-Chain really become future for crypto, the domain On-Chain. trade still good for medium crypto companies.

Or just got it to protect unique visitor or to be forwarded into their official website

It's just a same buyer and doing brand protection before launching so don't say it's a trend we have seen similar pattern when the same buyer were buying 'Coin' related domains.

Definitely catching attention! 🔥 Seems like “on-chain” is gaining serious traction, especially with the crypto/Web3 boom. Premium one-word + on-chain domains could be the next big play.
