Of course .com and "no dash" are king!
Let's say they are both gone on your 2-worder,
that you really want to reg.
With the recent sales reports of some 2-word .net's,
and some 2-word domains w/ dashes (hyphen's),
you cannot discount these domains, as being valuable.
Let's say if YOU were to feel strongly about your particular,
2-worder, and I know best case scenario is to reg, both.
But what if you were to only pick 1.
Which would you do?
The .net or the - ???

Thx Alot,
Red Rock!

Well the ones I want to reg. today are first off...
First word is a great keyword (32 million google results)
2nd word, kindof a generic geo word...planet, etc.

I'd go the .net

I've been in this situation quite a few times recently. Its a hard one. I've gone with the - (hyphenated) version 4 times out of 5. I prefer to have eg. corporate-events.com ... rather than corporateevents.net --- i don't know why. However I would rather have website.net instead of web-site.com

Not that any of this helps. But good luck. Go for both if you can.

What you say makes alot of sense.
I think....maybe the longer the 2 words are, that makes it more appealing
to include the hyphen.
And the website example...
I think we have seen that word for a LONG time as one word, so...
I kinda agree.
That's about the best explanation I can come up with???
Thx for all of your input!
