this may seem a bit stupid.. But please, remember that I am asking this with the presumption that my entire outlook on this is wrong.. and hence, I am asking your advice.
When I purchase a domain name for resale, I am looking at it in what I gather is the incorrect fashion...
I do not expect people to randomly type in my url to their browser to find what they need. I expect them to go to google, type in "keyword" and follow one of the top links provided.
soo, when I reg a domain name thats a .us, .name or whatnot.. how does the extension affect my url negatively in the example I just gave you? Arent all extentions equal to google's spiders/servers so long as they fit the requested search? Wont a .name extension have the same chance of appearing near the top as a .com if, as an example... both sites were identical and even reg'd on the same day?
