There we a couple of sales at the Traffic Auction condoms.info $4000 and videogames.info $2500

The interesting thing though was the .mobi sales
Code:
DUI.mobi $ 5,001 - $10,000 $ 7,000
Vegas.mobi	$ 5,001 - $10,000 $20,000
Score.mobi	$ 1 - $ 5,000 $ 7,000
Tickets.mobi	$ 5,001 - $10,000 $60,000
Cruises.mobi	$10,001 - $25,000 pass
Doctor.mobi	$ 1 - $ 5,000 $10,000
Banks.mobi	$ 5,001 - $10,000 $12,000
Property.mobi	$ 5,001 - $10,000 $26,000
Porn.mobi	$50,001 - $100,000 $110,000
Naked.mobi	$ 5,001 - $10,000 $10,500
Lottery.mobi	$ 5,001 - $10,000 $ 9,750
Hollywood.mobi	$ 5,001 - $10,000 $16,000
shows.mobi	$10,001 - $25,000 $20,000
Broadway.mobi	$ 5,001 - $10,000 $17,000
Mike.mobi	$ 5,001 - $10,000 pass

These sales figures are now at or below what I would have expected if the equivalent .info's had been offered for sale there.

I like those two for .mobi, can see lots of development potential and I think the buyer got a bargain.

I really like to reg info domain than net/org.

Info sites are great option for providing info about products/service etc.

.info suits certain stems/root/2nd-level/sub-domain so well (what IS the correct word for this bit of a domain? :checks BIND tome: )

eg.

free.info
The other party has cancelled the negotiation.
100,000 USD

solarpower.info
thinninghair.info
find***.info

nothing new right? but have you realised that even .com does not suit all uses:

***charity.com
obscurepolishharmonicaquintet.com
savethewhale.com

ok not great examples but i hope you get what i am trying to say - all ccTLD and gTLD (even sir .com) actually suit certain markets - just that we are so close to .com we do not realise that the others might have significant valuable roles to play, not just niches so that the poor cousin may actually be preferable one day

ask me to name one domain which would not be more valuable in .com than any other? erm ... some ccTLDs definately (bbc.co.uk) , although that is cheating a bit, but other gTLDs - sooner than you think maybe (could be worth a thread) ...

my advice: do not by tons of .info , .mobi , ccTLDs - the renewals will kill you - sell up and just buy a few of each - the best you can find.

i see it all as a pyramid that is getting squatter .. simple as that

i have been thinking about how many i own ...

where would .info be without the free/0.99/1.99 promos?

who can honestly say they would register the same volumes if they were $7.50 ?

i will have to lose a lot of them when renewals come round , much as I love them ...

if any afilias people watching - PLEASE consider reducing renewal price .. - your revenue will be the same - i will spend the same but just renew more of them - but i guess you want them all back in the registry as often as possible!

I've just remember I've got g46.info a while back.

A lot of the cctlds and tlds are taken.

Any value in this domain?

Thing is there are only 000-999 when it comes to nnn .info domains , your one has the letter in it and there are very many LNN combinations , that's why i grabbed the nnn.info because they are very scarce ...... there can only ever be 1000 of these

how much do registrars pay Afilias for .info names?

Have searched around and cannot find this - I am guessing they are pegging around the same level as Verisign for .com ?

Why? Just wondering if it is worth investing in a registrar and negotiating my future (many) .info renewals ..

(the current 2 years for $6 on new .info at dynadot seems a bargain - anyone have any better? Best I have seen for renewal/transfer is name.com $5.99 ..)

3dmap.info

Nice name but everyone has got to start developing.
Even if its only a few simple pages.

The first site is the hardest subsequent ones are much easier.

You can get far more revenue from a developed site than ever you can parked. Plus you can sell on a multiple of revenue like .com which are much more expensive costing thousands for now.

Sites indexed in search engines get into peoples mind eye even if they think wow I could tear down that site and build a much better one it starts the ball rolling.

Develop - Develop - Develop :)
