Sounds like things turned from bad to worse:

"Google announced a change to Content Suitability settings for Parked Domains in Google Ads, effective October.
New accounts will default to opt-out of serving ads on Parked Domains."

As a reasoning, they cite the bad user experience. So basically they don't want parked domains anymore, maybe the death of parking will be sudden and sooner than anyone expected.

It seems like it's the definitive end for domain parking
It was good while it lasted
Rest in peace

Thought that parking was dead and buried long time ago:xf.laugh:. First I guess this was in 2007/2008 or even earlier, when cpc dropped, then after parked domains were removed from SERPS and it continued on the same path.

For as long, as domains have valuable traffic, there will be a demand for it.

Looking at google ads revenue streams, only 20% goes to network, 80% of advertisers do only search ads.
Out of those remaining 20% - half goes to youtube. This leaves only 10% of advertisers spending budgets outside search and youtube. So, even now ads on domains are disabled for 90% of advertisers.
And those who advertise on the network - most exactly know what they are doing and where. Those who don't - and opted in by default - burn budgets, and then complain. This is the most obvious reason for G to disable this option from the default settings, and I'm surprised this was not done much much earlier. Pros will use it, newbies not - very good solution.
And to expand this a little bit more - applies to new accounts only. With everyone and their dog having an acc with google already - impact will be so small, that it won't even matter.

But yes, parking is dead, nothing to see here for last 10-15 years :xf.cool:

It sound to me like google gives the advertisers a choice to have ads displayed on parked domain or not . I feels that is fair as fraud in domain parking and arbitration in domain parking has ruin the parking business …its 20 years in the coming …on the other hand i expect that advertisers that had good experiences with having their ads displyed on CERTAIN domains will continue to so …they certainly wouldn’t want to opt out …in theory then domainers with legitimate good traffic should eventually make good money or at least see the revenue level off ( that little bit thats left . ) i for myself will see what happens and if it does not improve i will move my domains away from parking ( and quite frankly i hope everyone else will hopefully do the same ( smart ) thing and explore alternative methods of income with domains …leasing , selling ect.

New advertiser accounts in Adwords and similar. Those ads will not go to parking pages.

It seems Google has implemented this not only for old accounts. But implemented for new accounts also from 18 Nov 2024.

Old accounts will not be affected, only new ones
The information that Google announced at the beginning of September is to maintain
Nothing has changed on Nov. 18
