Obstructive sleep apnea

I had a sleep study done, and they have diagnosed me with "Obstructive sleep apnea"

They are saying i have two options, either sleep with a CPAP mask every night, or, have surgery. I am heavily leaning toward the surgery.

I am glad they found the cause of the foggy state of mind during the day hours, the doctor said i got two hours and 45 minutes of sleep, during the eight hour study, and he said that was off and on.

Does any one else have sleep apnea here?

If you have health insurance, you need to tell the doctor that it is affecting your daily life, and they will order a sleep study for you.

Sleep apnea is DEADLY if left untreated!

I saw the doctor today, He said my obstructive sleep apnea is high moderate to severe , with apnea episodes occuring on average 50 per hour.

He is going try the CPAP, I go in for the CPAP study next week, he said so they will be able to set my CPAP level to the correct level.


He also said, I never reached stage 3 sleep through out my study. I guess that would explain why i feel like shit most of the time.

I had the study done using the CPAP, At first. it seemed like i was smothering with the CPAP on, Then i began to breath normally, and fell asleep nicely with the CPAP on, I had a full face one on, It wasn't that uncomfortable at all.

The doc says, we are going to the CPAP for one month, he will collect the data from the machine, and then see if surgery is still necessary.

I have been using the CPAP , for a little over a week now, My machine, is self adjusting, It starts on 7.0. usually when i awake, It is on 10.0

I have the full mask, I don't have any problem sleeping with it at all, I do feel like i am sleeping much heavier, but so far, i still feel sleepy all day.

I hope this is just a case of it taking a little time for every thing to regulated, I am hoping to see positive results soon.

That's so cool - I'm glad that you got the CPAP and you're moving along with it.

Your body will begin to adjust to it over time. It's weird to have some thing pumping air into your face.
