I was able to pick up these two names in the 5th day of EAP for a great price. All the highly targeted keywords like news and porn sold in the 2nd day of EAP for around $3,400 each. Please share any of your .now, and your thoughts on the potential future. For some reason, I prefer this extension to .deal that also is in EAP.

Hi

for sure, you overpriced those fresh handregs.
they don't even fit with the extension

still, pricing limitations imposed by the platform could/would be contradictory to their appraisal tool value, if/when value is higher than the limit.

also think some are expecting too much, waay too soon.

from what i'm seeing,
the # of tld's registered does not apply, (except to domainers) as being a factor with this extension.
one has to think of what fits, because all keywords don't.

and those that don't, don't speak loud enough to be heard over those that do.

imo...

Thanks, i agree with you but if you look at the list of premium approved . now, a lot of them are random and a pattern is hard to see. Random examples.... Sword , Iron , Roofing , fulfillment and Tuna , I dont get the connection to NOW with these. I wouldn't be swapping Sneakers for any of these.

How would anyone know log.now for sale, much less make an offer, if there is no domain lander and whois contact info is set for private
Namecheap and other Registrars use third parties to place offers on domains not for sale. I am guessing they are emailing the privacy email and getting through?

Hi

i see sales thread titles here on NP with "Atom premium approved" names for sale.
but inside the post, the premiums are hard to find.

and the pattern i'm seeing is,
that they will approve a lot of names that don't fit the category they put them in.

just saying...

imo....

Seems to me you are contradicting yourself. On the one hand you say it is only category fits that should be expected to be approved. On the other hand you correctly notice that many non-category fits are being approved on Atom, while some action verbs such as the one I discussed are being denied.

Hi

perhaps you should re-read my posts

when i say they approve a lot of names that don't fit the category...that means they approve some names that are not really premium.
as evident is some sales thread titles here on the forum.

i don't have any .horses in this race, so no competition from me
just giving an outsiders viewpoint.

imo....

You say they aren't really premium, but the registry itself disagrees. They have labeled many words Reg premium that would not "fit the category". Bird, Bluebird, Blue, Blueberry, Black, etc. No action verbs among these... and this is just a mere handful of reg premiums like this. And i just checked some highly taken words from Bi-Bl....

I just got Investor and Sneakers rejected, registered in 356 and 247 tlds. I was surprised by this, the only thing I can think off is that I had the suggested price at $20k for both, usually I have between $7.5 and $10K. I would of thought pricing would not make a difference as I can only price within set limits approved by Atom.
Just got another .now rejected for premium. I have gone from getting nearly every .now approved (41 x ) to 3 good ones rejected in a row , the latest Optimism which has 81 views and 8 repeated visits

Yep, 8 .now rejected yesterday including:

PestControl.now 193 views, 239 TLDs
Rims.now 151 views, 117 TLDs
Zinc.now 84 views, 197 TLDs
Wool.now 111 views, 161 TLDs

At the end of the day, we're at the mercy of the reviewers and some just might not like .now names.

I seldom approve .ly, .gg, .vc unless there is a connection in some way.

Hi

if they were optimism .com, pestcontrol.com the perception of value would be quite different
as is, they don't fit with .now

in another extension for example, 'pestcontrol.service' would be a good fit
or something like 'killbugs.now' fits the extension but may not have a lot of tlds registered.

imo...

I appreciate your feedback but I work extensively with numerous home service companies. Other than HVAC no customers are more insistent on immediate service than pest control callers. Some folks call as soon as they see a single roach or spider. Termites calls are next level even though the damage is often already done. So, in my opinion nothing other than .com trumps .now

I disagree with you strongly here, if I need pest control then I probably need it in a rush or very soon so .now is a good fit.

Optimism also is something that people need, if it is optimism for health and wellness purposes the the sooner the better so .now is a good fit.

I think for sure someone else is reviewing . now at the moment.

As I mentioned to you upthread, the registry itself calls names like these "premium" and prices them higher. You want more examples than Bird, Bluebird, Blue, Blueberry, & Black?

Brain, Brown, Butterfly and even DataRecovery. All premium. You are suggesting only action verbs work - but the reality is Amazon Registry calls all these nouns reg premium and prices them as such. I'm not saying all these should be accepted at Atom. But I am saying it is not as black and white as you make it out to be.

I think the TLDs on these are low. There are myriad names left with almost 300 TLDs avail for hand reg, that have 30+ developed sites on the word. These words, except for Pest Control are too low (imo). But PestControl is 2 words and they are loathe to accept any 2 word combos at the moment. If you are regging 2 words, I wouldn't submit to Atom at the moment. As for single words with <200 taken TLDs, I'd only reg these for action verbs). If you're regging nouns, I'd stay above 250... but primarily shoot for 300+

I sent a query as to why .nows were been rejected suddenly and got the following reply. "Our acceptance criteria have become stricter. Although we may have approved certain types of names in the past, we may no longer accept them if they don't align with the types of names buyers are looking for. We plan to further tighten this criteria and share additional guidelines." So they now know what types of .now domains people are looking for.

Good. We don't want Premium .nows filled with oversaturated crapola like .com and the other extensions. We shall see however, what they start approving. I have a dozen in queue, will be interesting to see what "buyers are looking for" from that bunch

Unfortunately they should of not accepted the majority of names in .com. Buyers have to try and swim through the garbage to get to a decent name. Some cant swim that far.

I actually think this is a canned response and no changes were made.
These (and more) were all rejected and then approved on resubmission a week or so later.
Salt.now
Movers.now
Bread.now
Oxygen.now

I had Sweets.now rejected yesterday. I have no doubt it will clear eventually especially since Atom has Sweets.net listed.

I agree with you, a copy and paste job. The thing is they should of been approved in the first place.

Having domains rejected and then resubmitting them where they get fast tracked for premium does not build confidence in the system. Its a coin flick as to whether a name is approved or not.

Completely agree. I've been on Atom going on 3 years and there is no making sense of their approval system.

When they initially introduced their AI to detect premium worthy domains, I instantly got more than a dozen domains approved that had been rejected multiple times over a year.

I asked PorkBun to contact the registry re any upcoming promos for .now. Nothing imminent :( But they did say they are "open to the idea"
