I was able to pick up these two names in the 5th day of EAP for a great price. All the highly targeted keywords like news and porn sold in the 2nd day of EAP for around $3,400 each. Please share any of your .now, and your thoughts on the potential future. For some reason, I prefer this extension to .deal that also is in EAP.

The comment above about misspelling .com as .co was actually how I personally decades ago got my very first .co domain.
Today I only have .com

I could be wrong I thought I saw godaddy staff acknowledging on a Mr Bob Hawkes post that they were recently having internal discussions at godaddy about .now support.

Thank you @MasterfulBrand; this discussion is very interesting.
I’ve compiled the full exchange between GoDaddy/Afternic and investors below, since it was quite fragmented on X and hard to follow in thread form.
No edits, just cleaned up for readability:

why does my domain GPT .ae contain a link to 101domain .com ? It is active and in my Afternic acc... Answers on a postcard

@Afternic (1:07 PM · Apr 27, 2026 · 187 Views)
101domain .com is one of Afternic's distribution partners. For TLDs that GoDaddy can't process directly, we route buyers there to close the sale.

@AlanShiflett (4:13 AM · Apr 27, 2026 · 1,828 Views)
If GoDaddy doesn't support a TLD, like .ae, then it is routed to 101domain currently to ensure all TLDs can be supported

@DomainJames (9:14 AM · Apr 27, 2026 · 194 Views)
This must be a new thing. It never did this and is not a solution

@Rebrand_Now (1:13 PM · Apr 27, 2026 · 77 Views)
Not all TLDs are supported via this method. For example, it doesn't support .now, .fast, .you, .spot, and so on. Is there a plan to add "all TLDs" as you mentioned?

@AGreatDomain, Bob Hawkes (6:52 PM · Apr 27, 2026 · 470 Views)
Thanks for info, Alan. Is it possible that something similar could be done for the .now extension so that they could be listed at Afternic? I see that 101 do handle that extension.

@AlanShiflett (7:11 PM · Apr 27, 2026 · 105 Views)
A few of us were just talking about this. Ultimately, we need a better way to flag in Portfolio View when a domain is routed through a partner on landers vs GD.
This leaves us with two options:
1. Wait until we build the flag in way that makes sense, which means it competes for priority against stuff driving more impact, so it takes a while.
2. open it up now and accept that some sellers won't see the X posts or blog updates and will be confused by the experience.
Sounds like you lean towards option 2

@AGreatDomain, Bob Hawkes (7:17 PM · Apr 27, 2026 · 105 Views)
Thanks for the super fast and informative reply, Alan.
Actually, I would prefer GD be a registrar for .now and the extension be handled like most extensions.
If that not possible, yes I would lean toward 2.
Between X and NamePros, word would get out to investors pretty fast.

@AGreatDomain, Bob Hawkes (7:31 PM · Apr 27, 2026 · 60 Views)
I should add that it is not a central issue for me personally, I have very small .now portfolio. But I know there are people like
@Rebrand_Now with many quality .now names that would very much like GD and Afternic to fully support .now.

@Rebrand_Now (10:45 PM · Apr 27, 2026 · 45 Views)
I agree with Bob, best option is for GD to sell .now (so we can add it to Afternic properly). If GD has .now in queue (regardless of time to launch), waiting is the best option.
If not in queue (which means currently no timeline to launch at all), then #2 is the only viable option and perhaps better than nothing (although perhaps not - see below).
Perhaps I'm misunderstanding, but it appears the reason #2 is not overly helpful are names "listed" via this option aren't found via GD reg path (see below), which makes this option generally a "push only" option for sellers. Basically a bring your own lead checkout link.
If we were pushing via GoDaddy's cart that would be a huge plus - but this option pushes to 101domain's cart - and thus lacks the trust GD's name carries with it.
Sellers could just as easily use checkout links from SellerHub (or others) which is likely on par with 101domain in terms of familiarity among buyers (which is, imo, basically non-existent).
But again, perhaps I'm misunderstanding one of the benefits here, and happy to be enlightened. Assuming I do understand it properly, would you suggest #1 or #2 based on my thoughts above Alan?

@AlanShiflett (4:29 AM · Apr 27, 2026 · 517 Views)
Afternic is a domain distribution network, 101domain is one of hundreds of partners.
Our number one objective is to sell domains, so yes, we will do whatever it takes to sell domains.

@DomainJames (1:15 PM · Apr 27, 2026 · 112 Views)
But you’re taking the buyers to a marketplace of other names when they click buy. It makes no sense. Is this new? I had ae names sell and this was not the case

@AlanShiflett (2:29 PM · Apr 27, 2026 · 492 Views)
This has been live a couple months
GoDaddy does not sell the .ae extension so prior to this there would have been a 0% chance it sold directly through an Afternic/GoDaddy lander (only path would have been through the sales team who would have an Afternic partner as well)
101domain was identified as a great partner for this as they are not a marketplace, they are a registrar who offers an extremely wide range of TLDs.
We worked with them to ensure the click from the lander goes to a checkout path where no alternative domains are offered.

@DomainJames (3:38 PM · Apr 27, 2026 · 68 Views)
thanks for clarifying

(UNQUOTE)

My understanding from this conversation is that GoDaddy is exploring ways to support the .Now extension, but likely through partner-based sales via Afternic rather than full native integration for now.

Thanks for putting that together.

GoDaddy already operates hundreds of TLDs.

What would it actually take to add another?

Thanks for the comment.

I would actually ask: why GoDaddy wouldn’t engage with .now?

If they position themselves as the largest registrar, ignoring a growing extension could mean leaving part of the market behind; both in terms of revenue & user demand; while also giving competitors a golden opportunity to catch their customers easily.

An extension that has already sold tens of thousands of domains in a relatively short time, suggests there is real demand, and it would be surprising if GoDaddy had no interest in capturing at least a share (lets's say 50% to 60%) of that.

Can you share the source(s) for this, if you don't mind?

Of course I can give to you 3 sources;

1) According to DNS Coffee, 25.324 domains are registered.
-Last Import: May 01, 2026
-Number of Zone Imports: 3.561
-Number of Domains: 25.324
(Source: https://dns.coffee/zones/now)

2) According to NameBio, 291 domains sold in auctions and/or secondary markets, @ prices between 100 USD to 79,988 USD.
NameBio doesn't record the sales under 100 USD, so the real number of domains sold has to be more than this 291.
(Source: https://namebio.com/)

3) We alone sold about 60 domains at Atom Wholesale Market which is not registered by NameBio.
According to our own observations we were not alone :))

Is this still your current strategy or are you striving to sell to endusers too?
Also, would you mind sharing the size of your current .now portfolio?

Speculating about it but I’m assuming they were waiting for certain signals of adoption that perhaps they’ve seen enough of?

fyi; all Atom Premium names were supposed to show within PB reg path since Sep 2025, but due to an @Atom.com API configuration bug - they have not been. @Porkbun was able to implement a partial fix, but needs Atoms help to fix their API so Atom Premium .now's appear when someone searches solely for the SLD (without TLD). That works for all other Atom Premium TLDs, except .now. Assuming Atom tech fixes their API, .now should show (and gain whatever eyeballs Porkbuns distribution brings with it). fyi @GrantPolachek

This should .now be fully fixed!

@Porkbun After testing a few, all Atom .now Premiums appear to be listed properly. Thanks for following up.

However, I notice that .now Sedo MLS Premium names do not appear within your registration path (for clarity, these are not Premium at Atom - solely Sedo MLS Premium listed names). However .com Afternic Premium names appear in your registration path as do .com Sedo MLS Premium names.
But not .now. Is this a bug or by design?
