Some of you may remember I posted the following thread last week http://www.namepros.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=32512

now I have another problem with 1and1, I had 30 days to transfer my domains I waited so that I could get my databases (obviously leaving myself enough time to transfer the domains) but when I found the databases were deleted I started the transfer.

I am using enom to transfer the domains and the status is currently waiting for aproval (ie 1and1 have to aprove it) yet it has sat at that status for roughly 3 days with absolutely nothing getting done.

I phoned yesterday and they said they couldn't state how long it will take phoned them again today and support is closed until monday, major problem being I think the 30 day mark is monday or tuesday.

Is there anything at all I can do or just accept the fact I am going to lose the domains?

1and1 is a tough company to deal with. You can try all you want, but nothing will probably get done.

surely tho they are going against their obligation to transfer the domains, they are the ones who terminated the contract now they dont allow the transfer.

They have no reason to hold onto them as by their own admission I owe them nothing.

Thanks for the warning filth. I take it then your experience with 1and1 is not very good.

if you dont want any control over your domain name and you ensure payments are made early and you dont mind paying over the odds a bit they are good but as soon as you dont want to give them as much money either by moving something or downgrading then things start to go wrong.

Thanks for the warning. I hope you get your domains where you want them. Good luck.

This is what can happen when you go with companies selling at a loss.

I finally now have control of 3 of my 5 domains (the other 2 are .co.uk and have a different process) so things are finally happening,

Unfortunately, this kind of experience is not untypical for 1&1 customers. Glad to hear you're back in control of your domains, filth.

cheers Professer, all I need to do now is build up the content all over again, took me 2-3 years to get the site the way it was.
