Hi,

It's been 8 days since I requested a domain transfer from 1and1 to Godaddy.
1and1 says that I should reinitiate the transfer of my domain to the gaining registrar, but why I should restart transfer and wait again?!
1and1 is a strange domain registrar.

Thanks.

Well, this seems to happen to many people with 1&1. There are several threads that have been floating around recently about this and similar problems with them.

You shouldn't have to start the transfer over again, but if that's what they told you then it would probably be best to do it.

It's just a tactic to get people to just say f_ck it i'll just stay and avoid the headache.

I'm sorry you are being screwed around with but as long as you learn from this experience with them then consider it a lesson learned.

1and1 is difficult to use. You can't make any bulk changes. To make everytime for each domain. Very tedious. If you want to transfer your nameserver about 10 domains, you need pure 15 minutes. But at godaddy it takes only 2 minutes. Transfer process is very tedious. Also no free domain push is available., I have there around 50 domains and plan to move those soon.

I don't think anyone should use them. NS and 1and1 are on my list of bad registrars.

You should wait for the it again and restart the transfer and don't use them again.

The situation is complicated by the fact that I sold the domain and can't transfer to the buyer...

And says that they're preparing a package I can use soon?? I don't remember purchasing a package.

I wonder how will this whole experience be and for when I transfer mine if it comes to that.

You shouldn't use 1&1 unless you have a stress wish! Kind of like a death wish, but more stressful.

You should have researched 1&1 before buying anything from/through them. They are a nightmare waiting to happen in many, many cases. Do a site or Google search for them and see why they have their, well earned bad reputation.

Yea I kinda just have to secure this one domain for cheap cause my funds don't really let me do much. I only did a bit of search on them; I called and told the rep I was talking to about it and he just kept saying 'Don't worry about it'. Lmao A client with a concern and that's what you say? 99cents alright.

Don't worry about it means, wait till you try to transfer or you want a cheap renewal!

If you need cheap, GoDaddy is the way to go for .coms. Lots of codes!
