Notepad for editing files

Hey
is there a better notepad for editing files?
I am installing mods and i need the function where it tells me what line it is...or where i can go 2 a specific line..notepad has it but when i open files with notepad they are all squished..when i open it with wordpad they r okay but it doesnt have the goto LINE function

just download prolix

and then open the said .php file and click on F4 then type the line number. very fast and can handle 16mb+ file sizes.

I'm using PHP Designer it's free and have fucntions you're looking for. If I remember correctly I've downloaded mine from download.com

If you want to edit javascript, use aptana
