Happy New Year everyone! I hope this next year is a really great one for you! It really was an awesome and exciting year for LLLL domain name sales! As there were at least 375 public LLLL domain name sales over $2,000, we’ve decided to list those LLLL sales that crossed that mark, as there are now just too many LLLL names that sell each month for more than $1,000. Among these names crossing the $2K mark this month, we have over $1,650,000 in sales listed below. Obviously, there were many more sales under $2,000 which are not included in these totals. Where are the LLLL names selling for greater than $2K? Here’s a breakdown…
Namejet sold the most, capturing about 59% of the dollars sold, with an average sale price of $6,565 and a median of $2,650
Sedo is tied for second with about 14% of the dollars sold, with an average sale price of $3,060 and a median of $2,301
GoDaddy also tied for second with about 14% of the dollars sold, with an average sale price of $2,727 and a median of $2,176
Remaining sales, in order of number of sales greater than $2K, were attributed to 4.cn (avg sale $2,281), Flippa (avg sale $2,200), DropCatch (avg sale $2,516) with BuyDomains capturing the rest.
Comparing to last month, prices have obviously increased and while there was a slight correction towards the end of the month, it seems that correction is starting to get erased.
Below you will find the more notable LLLL domain name sales for the month of December 2015, primarily focusing on sales above $2,000. Please note some dates may be off and some of these sales may never have closed. This month was highlighted with the sale of SOFT.com for a whopping $364,000 at Namejet. Other notable sales included MACY.com for $75,000 at Namejet, OLED.com for $56,000 at Flippa and ROBE.com for $37,000 at Namejet.
