As written at LLLL.domains today, even with the extra day in February, LLLL domain name sales above $2,000 were not as plentiful as they have been in the last few months, although Chinese New Year was in the mix, which may explain the slight slow-down. There are also a lot of people holding out to see what happens, which has reduced inventory as well. In any event, this past month, there were at least 143 public LLLL domain name sales over $2,000. We’ve decided to list those LLLL sales that crossed that mark. Among these names crossing the $2K mark this month, we have over $486,000 in sales listed below. Obviously, there were many more sales under $2,000 which are not included in these totals. Where are the LLLL names selling for greater than $2K? Here’s a breakdown…

Namejet sold the most, capturing about 41% of the dollars sold, with an average sale price of $3,310 and a median of $2,400

GoDaddy is second with about 33% of the dollars sold, with an average sale price of $4,037 and a median of $2,206

Sedo came in third with about 12% of the dollars sold, with an average sale price of $3,272 and a median of $2,147

Remaining sales, in order of number of sales greater than $2K, were attributed to Flippa (avg sale $2,559), DropCatch (avg sale $3,314), 4.cn (avg sale $2,181) with BuyDomains and EBay capturing the rest.

Below you will find the more notable LLLL domain name sales for the month of February 2016, primarily focusing on sales above $2,000. Please note some dates may be off and some of these sales may never have closed. This month was highlighted with the sale of GUJI.com for $40,001 at GoDaddy. Other notable sales included EXUE.com for $31,401 at Namejet, and JOYA.com for $18,000 at GoDaddy. I think this may have something to do with it. We were all waiting for the new year to end. Plus the market has been on the uptick so many owners of LLLL.coms either raised their prices or just didn't sell at the lower end, hoping for more upward trending prices.

I think the low hanging fruit in the LLLL.com market has been picked over pretty well. That leaves those that think their LLLL.com is worth more than the market was gobbling up for the last so many months/yr.

I have less than 20 LLLL.com's and would sell any of them anytime soon.

There have been major portfolios in the LLLL market change hands recently. That shows those who do own LLLL's that the big guys are in the market and we should be holding out for higher prices.

Everyone was so worried about CHIPS. Those domains have plenty of vowels in them. They got the highest prices. That's why I'm holding onto what I have. Mine are pronounceable LLLL.com's that are more brandable IMO than the CHIP market. Plus I and most on here still don't fully understand the CHIP stuff.

For me I would take a pronounceable long before a CHIP.

I would advise anyone who owns a LLLL.com to hold onto that thing. They aren't really getting cheaper, they get developed and pulled out of the market, and large players in the game now like them. They are still affordable and good investments.

They have been 10,000's of LLLL sold in many extensions that will be a very hard sell, until the .com market goes higher. Plus the LLLL.com market is the only reason that the other extensions have sold as many LLLL's that they have.

No one would buy a LLLL.top, LLLL.club, or LLLL.xyz if there were LLLL.com's still available either to hand reg. or find in the aftermarket for cheap.

Once prices went up in the .com, the other markets started seeing buyouts happen in their extensions.

I'm a long-term holder. I will only sell if I get a crazy high offer, I need the money for finger transplants(from writing long posts), or someone has a gun to my head.

There is 60-80% chance that by the beginning of next year, all 4L especially non-chips will experience a significant surge in price. More will also be developed by then, even the random 4L will find a fair ground.
