Noob question regarding Google PR

While checking out available domains, I'm wondering what's the best to focus on? Would it be a high Google PR? Or the most backlinks leading to the site?
I've noticed sites with 0 PR, but over 1k incoming links to it. Or with 2PR, but only like 2 incoming links...?
Just in general, for a site intended to be developed quickly?

Opinions? Thanks :)

first off, PR calculation has a lot more to do than just the number of incoming links. getting a domain with high PR looks great for you, but can disappear if you dont maintain it. if im looking to develop a site, i would probably look for a high number of incoming links that are relevant to my site. this helps in actually developing it and gaining steady relevant traffic, and the PR will come naturally afterwards.

It takes every three months for Google to update the toolbar PR and hence, a site with new hundreds of incoming links may be shown as PR 0 for now.

Back to the topic, I would concentrate on the number of incoming links rather than the PR :)
