Non-English or IDNs? There's a difference.

A domain can be ASCII or IDN (Native letters in Unicode).

you can use non-english domain name.

in brazil there are many, many portuguese.com

globo.com (globo is the largest media group in brazil, third or fourth in the world)
americanas.com (the largest departament store)

and there are thousands of them... from big companies to small business/personal/forum sites

Non-english generics can go for alot of money if you choose the right language and find the right end-user.
