Just saw on another forum that eBay will no longer allow sellers to accept checks or money orders "for the buyer's own good".. looks like it will be just PayPal or other non-competing forms of online payment as the only choice.

One more reason I'd rather not use eBay.. I preferred PayPal as payment but always gave the option of check or money order. Some people just WILL NOT use PayPal or pay online.

Yea they just want to make more money for themselves, that's all they are looking out for. A money order would probably be the best form of payment. No fees and no charge backs!!!

You can place a stop on a money order.

As a buyer who lives five miles from the post office and seldom goes there, I will not buy from sellers who require a MO. Compared to PayPal where I can pay in less than a minute, it takes a huge amount of time, effort, and expense to pay with a money order.

On the other hand, I've had many buyers who wouldn't pay by PayPal.. some people have enough trouble checking their email and can't figure out how to use PayPal or even what it is. Others don't trust online payment processors.

I know how smart people are ;) .. I used to get $25 an hour to help people set up eBay accounts.. always had repeat business because they'd forget what I told them.

Oh wow, I didn't know that.

Dang, are any payments safe these days?
Only ones I can think about is Cash and MoneyBookers. Unless I'm wrong about MoneyBookers they don't allow charge backs.

Wow, you would think if they are smart enough to get on eBay they would be OK to pay, lol.

$25 an hour to help people, hmmm sounds like a good site idea. Maybe a third party payment service. The company can use there paypal account to pay for the consumers product and accept the different payment methods.

Right now I have a guy that dropped off a wood box full of old carpentry tools (mostly planes) that he wants me to research and sell for him.

Used to be I had a deal with some local antique shops a few years back to sell things for a percentage. I sold postcards for one guy and was making about $125 a week just from listing his post cards. I'd list 100 different on his account, then when they sold, he'd ship them out.
