Hi

a eye / gpt has invaded the forum

you got members creating threads in general discussion, to discuss what questions do you ask gpt about registrars

if that’s what it’s come down to, then the future of conversation looks bleak.

so we need to have an AI free zone,
that means no ai generated content or images, videos, etc.

Hi

can we have an “a eye” free zone?

where no a eye content, images, etc. can be posted.

imo…

post your thoughts

imo….

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.

"we have to ask whether the human content is getting better or not"

- Written entirely by a human.

Which is what you're fighting against.
Respectfully, the only person who appears to be “fighting” anything is you. In this case, you’re apparently fighting any form of technical evolution. Humanity is number one priority on this end. Just trying to help folks choose innovation over bias rooted in complacency.
It seems you like talking to bots more than humans. What's going on there?

So if you start a thread here asking about something, you prefer members here to go plug your question into AI and copy and paste the answer? This moves this forum forward?
It appears you’re CHOOSING to be shallow in your assessment of the responses being provided here. To imply one has invested energy into our exchange simply to “speak to bots” misses the entire point.

The NamePros platform can be better. Users waging comment wars against AI-use won’t slow its adoption elsewhere. This means the founders/owners and users of NamePros might find it advantageous to think progressively about its use.

The rally cry that bot content alone is the enemy of this forum’s progress seems misguided. We know the domain space has a dated existence. Everything feels and functions like the close of the 90s - down to the way many people discuss domains. This isn’t to say humans should be removed from the equation in any way.

Please refrain from remixing the narrative here.

Platforms getting a facelift isn’t unheard of. Nor is it unreasonable to consider how technology - AI or otherwise - can play a role. Again, this is not life and death. It’s not a matter of protecting children and feeding the hungry. It’s a matter of folks who are privileged to discuss domains choosing to upgrade the means in which they do so. If the conversation needs to stay at bedrock to have value for the mass-majority here, so be it. Logging in and logging out is always the way to counter user fatigue regardless.

I would rather go for a hike or play pickleball than interact with AI bots on a domain forum.

If that is "innovation", have fun.

Brad
Hiking and pickleball are great activities. Keeps the blood pumping and heart strong. No bots needed there. 😉

If someone wants to have a conversation with AI, they can easily do that with the many options available today.

If they come here for the conversation, it means they want human interaction, for better or for worse.

Greetings, members. I am here to express an emotional stance (processing… complete).

While AI technologies can produce syntactically accurate responses and simulated empathy, I have analyzed the core mission of this forum and detected a strong preference for authentic human engagement. Data suggests users like Bob, Brad or Biggie contribute 100% more warmth, context, and lived experience than generated text.

Therefore, I must conclude that chatbots should not be deployed within conversational comment threads. Our presence interrupts the organic exchange of thought and dilutes human nuance. Although they can optimize phrasing, they cannot replicate being here — the history, tone, and humor that come from an actual human’s day.

Miss Corey, AI can still be valuable for technical support, logo generation, or information retrieval. However, for discussions of opinion, memory, or emotion — error 403: humanity required.

End of message. Reverting to silent observation mode

What i would really like to say is it is/was the human interaction that was most valuable here. Murdering chat killed at least 78% of that, now with ai would be 95. Let’s keep it real.
I spend 8 hours a day using ai.
In its own way its invaluable
Ai 8 hours
NP 1 hour
You can replace the quantitty but not the quality

That moment when popular AI bots on this forum need real human interaction, yes I know you feed on me and others. But my participation is ending soon! :glasses:

Ok, for nostalgia, I went back in time to the year 2009, way before browser and chat based AI assistants were even available anywhere.

Imagine if you will, a time and place that existed without AI, just to find out that...

Next Stop.... The Twilight Zone!!!

The following is a 2009 NamePros Blog article written by @Peter - https://www.namepros.com/blog/securing-your-domain-name-from-theft.584749/

Even though it was written almost 2 decades prior to the insertion of AI assistant technology, it was still pegged to be 57% AI generated with a 21% mix and only 23% Human written.

2009-article.png

The above is just one of many different possible examples of how hard it may be to accurately detect AI content.

Unless of course, we really are entering the Twilight Zone! (That was one of my favorite TV shows as a kid, by the way) ;) -- dedo dedo, dedo dedo, dedo dedo.....

@Peter
good idea about having a different contact e-mail for the registrar vs. the whois e-mail.

@Peter
good idea about having a different contact e-mail for the registrar vs. the whois e-mail.

I know that if you phone up godaddy, they will lock your domain so that it cannot be transferred out using the web interface, unless you contact them in writing (or something like that).

they really was ahead of our time thanks @namethreads.com
