niche domain or unique content ?

i see so many peoples running good business by buying niche domains but i also see lots of people using some off topic domains like vikasgupta.com or asdfgh.com and the site is related to tech or health or some other topic and those sites are also running good.

so what u people think, just a same good niche domain is good or different domain with unique content work good ?

Both would work together pretty good, nut the underline is that content is the king.

If your domain name is sparkling sweet, but your content isn't measuring up, ppl would soon leave the site; but if you have interesting and engaging content, the domain would soon become an household name.
