Hello.

I started a 6 month free trial with 1and1 early in June. The trial included a free .co.uk domain and free hosting.

I have now used the trial for 2 months and am about to cancel the whole package, and transfer the .co.uk domain over to 123-Reg.

Is has come to my attention that I will be about to get a free .co.uk domain seen as 1and1 have not attempted to bill me, and 123-Reg accept incoming .co.uk domain transfers for free.

Is this right? Do you usually get a free domain?

I having rung customer serivces, but I wouldn't trust them holding my beer, let alone with domains as they can hardly understand and speak a word of english!

Thanks.

You could transfer your domain only 90 days after registration, and btw, when you actually do this, your current registrar probably will deny the transfer or charge you a reg fee before you successsfully transfer your name. They might wrote it in the Terms of Conditions documents. They are not that silly :imho:
Good luck!

Im getting worried that i may lose the domain >:(

For example - i cancel the contract and process a transfer yet they wont let me transfer so they delete it so its available for everyone.

I have done loadsa work on the site too!

Someone reassure me and tell me that i can't lose it. If i lose it, I can still pick it back up before everyone else although it would cost me right?

Thanks.
