.mobi NewBay to provide "dotmobi" personal websites

SPARKS?????Was anyone aware of this?

Just came across these news items from February 2006
NewBay Software to Offer .mobi Domain Names for Mobile Internet Sites

Just wonder why Newbay.mobi is not registered.
And also their big product "FONEBLOG" is not regged under .Mobi but they have a live site with .co.uk http://www.foneblog.co.uk/
and the .com extension is theirs too although not active.
So I dont understand why they dont have .mobi if they are supporting it so much that they are giving away .mobi sites to customers.



Hmmmmm, there's a connection of some sorts between .Mobi and Newbay? Both are situated in Ireland. Wonder if they share more then location and an interest in .Mobi? And how far this interest goes?
