Hi,

have never used any ad programs and I have some questions.

I am thinking about creating some classified ads sites, and financing it through some form of PPC/CPM. There is a site I have been following that has gone from nothing to having more than 6000 visitors a day and 500 000 page views /month. This does not seem to be near its growth limit, so I expect it to at least double visitor/page view number.

This brings me to the questions I have.

  1. Will it be better to use PPC or PPM to finanse such a site.
  2. Does anybody has experience with Classifieds site?
  3. What is the CTR? and Average payment per click?
  4. What is better Yahoo, Google or something else?

If you have generic name, per impression should be appropriate but I am a PPC avid user.
Not sure what classified site, e.g. something like www.business.nu directory listing. It accept publishers and advertisers through Ads by Netstumble.com.
CTR is click to ratio, pay per click depends on keyword you use. To check the Top 100 keywords, see the list here:

Google commonly used by publishers because Yahoo still in beta stage and by invitation only. If you can't get through these advertisers, Ads by Netstumble.com, Adbrite, etc should be ok as your alternative.

I hope this answer your questions.

I hope to see you prosper in your website. Keep in touch.
Regards,
Em
