Hi everyone,
New to the board and new to the entire domaining/parking/traffic, monetization business.

So I've set myself a goal to be reached by the end of August but since I'm new to this, I don't know if it's realistic or too high or two low, or whatever.
So I'm looking for the opinions of you experienced people.

Basically, my goal is to be making $10/day from my domains, parked or with a service like WhyPark. (Note: Thats $10 total, not $10 each) I have about 30ish domains, mostly .com's, some .orgs and .nets, and a few .infos. They are all different sectors, some sports, some adult, some general, some financial etc. etc. (I'll just list them)

armchairpro.com, bigcam.info, bigporn.org, bigyep.com, biznoob.com, boyssex.org, buystockandbonds.com, coresex.net, creditreporter.us, downinfo.info, dvdbpx.com, face-melter.com, findmyguitar.com, goalielist.com, goaliesearch.com, jumpthegeneral.com, lessongenie.com, lessonhunter.com, lessonshark.com, lowercreditrate.com, muiscstudy.com, mycamlive.info,, quoteinfo.info, rockgobblin.com, rockgoblin.com, searchlessons.com, titcam.info, vibq.com, yoage.com, yogrow.com.

Some were aquired for development that never ended up happening, some were aquired for the purposes of monetization. All but one have essentially no traffic so Im starting from scratch.

Right now I have them all parked at SEDO for sale but I've just moved the adult ones to trafficclub. I'm right now seriously looking into signing up for WhyPark and trying it that way with adsense.

So tell me, is it reasonable to set a goal of $10 a day in click revenue by the end of august?

I think your goal to make $10/day by the end of August via parked sites is unrealistic. To make money on the internet you need traffic and parking the site will only give you so much of it.

My parked domains on Sedo make about $.10 to $5.00 per day with about 700 uniques. My developed niche specific adsense sites with the same amount traffic make about $3.00 to $18.00 per day.

My suggestion is to develop quality niche specific sites and your goal could be met by next year.

Good Luck.

Thanks for your opinion. I too agree that its unrealistic for me to make $10 a day from parking, especially with SEDO, at least with the knowledge and names at my disposal. However I'm not looking to just use parking.

I dont have any specific method of monetization set in mind for this. I have the domains parked at SEDO because I just started and its the option that seems the easiest and most obvious until I know more about what Im doing.

Im open to ANY means of monetization. Whatever works. So any suggestions on techniques are welcome and appreciated!

Right now Im trying out parking and seeing how it works, and I've also started building a small site at one of my domains guitarnoob.com to see what kind of traffic I can build from a small site.

I've been doing this parking stuff for about 3 days. I'm a total noob. I bought about 25 domains (new ones). I stuck half over at parked.com and half over at whypark.com. I have no idea how long it takes to get indexed or to get at least just a few visits, let alone clicks!

I'm using goodgle analytics to track my visits (if i ever get any).

To me...it's like farming...a slow steady process.

it depends on what you buy, if you buy trytry567657.com you will probably never get a hit, you should have researched and looked up everything before you went and purchased domains, read up on it. i hope you got afew nice names for your sake tho ;)

I bet you have no clue do you? 10$ a day within 2 months is not so hard, even if you have a low budget.

To topicstarter:
Dump your domains: sell them cheap or drop them.
Then focus on registering/buying domains that get type-ins.

coolman, thanks for the compliments. :kickass: I'm trying just to make a few bucks to put a dent in my $150.00/month gas bill.

Well, on a parked domain porfolio, making $10 per day depends on your domain name and the traffic it receives. But if you have a content site like those of whypark.com, you could make $10 per day on just one site in 3-4 months time, if you put in the "right" effort. By this I mean, adding new original content to your site, creating backlinks and directory listing. This could bring in good traffic and if youre using adsense on a high paying keyword niche, you could easily make 10 bucks a day. IMO, just choose a good domain with potential and work on it. One good site is enough to get you the money.

Then as time passes, you can start the same effort on other domains. For example, I would start with a domain like cancerreports.org, because it is a better paying niche, start developing new content on it, submit it to various free directories (in proper categories), create free/purchased high PR links to it, submit it to search engines, and use tools like Wordtracker to find the "least competitor keywords" for use in the articles.

I think with these steps, you could easily start getting good traffic to the domain in 2-4 months. And making $10 wouldnt be a dream.

:)

Thanks varon, I always love reading your advice. I'm also going to take your advice here too.

Now when you say develop content on the site, do you mean opening a hosting account somewhere and really develop content for it (I could add just a bunch of feeds i suppose) or is whypark enough for development (since their feeds seem to be pretty nice actually).

Hosting is about 4/month. I'm just wondering if whypark is enough development since their content is prettymuch dead on.

I also read one of your posts on wordtracker and took the trial. That is an amazing tool.

I'm clueless about the whole buying links thing. I get the adsense stuff.

Thanks again.

I'm glad you find the information useful :)

If you have the time, the best option ofcourse would be to develop a full fledged site, hosted somewhere. But if you feel you need a quick solution, you could use services like whypark. That is good enough for a quick launch pad. Then if you find your site doing well, you can decide if you want a full fledged site hosted.

For free links, there are many offers on the net. Even here at Namepros, you can find some webmasters who might offer you links for free. Just check the link exchange forum. You could even post a thread seeking links from webmasters.

One last question (for now). Do you know of any free submission software? Traffic Seeker looks nice, but it's $99 (for the decent version).

Let me look around and find some good free submission software. In the meanwhile, have a look at link machine. It has a free trial www.linkmachine.net.

My opinion based on his current list of domain with virtually no traffic and you even suggested he sell or drop his domains.

I'm curious, you mentioned $10 a day within two months in not so hard with a low budget, but a low budget is a relative...what "low budget" do you believe will guarantee to make $10 per day within 60 days using parked sites?

Hey guys, thanks for all the opinions.

Once again, I'm not limiting myself to just parking. Content like WhyPark is an option, and I'm in no way against development assuming it's not on a major scale.

All I want to do is be generating $10 a day in revenue passively (at least relatively passively).

Remember,

its o.k. to have adsense or ppc links on your name if you are making your own website. It is not o.k. to do so if you are parking your name with most parking companies. Doing that can get you banned from parking.

Parking providers are looking for quality traffic, not traffic that you are sending to it.

You are making much faster progress than many of us did when we started. Good luck.

You only have to register 30 domains that make 0,33$ a day or 10 domains that earn a dollar a day. Of course researching is time consuming, but if you have a low budget it's the way to go.
