New site marketing steps

I just launched my new site anybadcredit.com and I'm now working on marketing it. I've built what I think will be a very search engine friendly site that my target will find helpful.

I want to do my best to build up my PR and bring in traffic. Can any one offer some good "first steps" to take when launching a new site?

Here is a brief rundown of what I've been up to...I'd like to do ALOT more.

- Search engine submission (all the major)
- DMOZ, Yahoo Directory submits
- Twitter posts (follow me: twitter.com/AnyBadCredit)
- I've started participating at a Canadian "Finance forum" and included links
- I've done the same with Yahoo answers
- I've submitted to about 10 directories (I'm going to keep this up)
- I'm looking for suitable consumer credit, finance, bankruptcy, mortgage and automotive blogs and forums to participate and comment at
- I'm looking for like minded link exchange opportunities (no idea where to look)

Thats where I am (I only launched on Tuesday night) and its still early but I want to make sure I'm not missing any fundamental steps.

Also you can make a profile in youtube, facebook and myspace. Those are good advertising options

Do not focus much time on your PageRank as it's not that important anymore. Try to get as many keyword rich backlinks as you can get. You already listed a lot of great points in getting backlinks. Don't lose focus!

I would suggest go to a seo site and use the option "back link builder". In that you can type the keywords pertinent to your site. It will come up with the results of sites with similar keywords which have requested for link exchange

I think you should consider articles marketing as a long term strategy so that you will have a consistent traffic from the dircetories. It is also one of the most effective link building tactic as well =)

Pay for unique articles and then you can use them anywhere with your branding.

Sorry what I mean was: Should I use a free article site to distribute articles I write of should I pay for place of my articles on a premium article site?

The same question for press releases, also, please.

If you submit the same article to 3 different article sites, its obviously duplicate content, but do you think the pros outweigh the cons?

For starters you could add your site to the signature section of your posts through the user control panel... This way the search engines can find it.....

Add an autoresponder

I would add an opt-in page to collect e-mails and use and autoresponder to send out free information on bad credit. Not sure what your end game is with the site, but if you want to make money with it, you should start building an asset which is a list from the beginning.

If you have launched your new website why not tell the world with a press release?

Domainers and website builders are more than welcome to use my company's Free Press Release Service. Please just pay attention to the rules and guidelines. A well-written and received press release can get you thousands of pairs of eyes in just hours.

Is DMOZ even taking anymore submissions these days? I remember that 10 years ago it was pretty tough to get listed and nowadays things don't seem to be all that different. The social arena looks a lot friendlier right now..
