Hey guys,

Is there anyway to make a new rule/sticky for the auction area stating that:

"If the seller has not posted full info (domain, expiration, when auction ends, etc.), than interested parties should NOT bid until the info is added".

It's pretty annoying seeing people not put the full info, letting the bids come in before a mod realizes, and than adding the extra info as they see fit after they've seen what kind of bids have come in.

If all the info is not in the original post and there's already a bid, the posting should be locked and they should have to make a new post from the start.

I have no examples in particular, but I've seen it happen.

I agree sellers shouldn't do this, but then again it shouldn't be a rule :imho: . I think, if I may be so blunt as to say so (this suggestion of yours has been suggested by a few people), that the bidding for names is a two-way street. Hence:

1 ) If a buyer wants a name bad enough, they will look-up the info, should it not already be there.
2 ) If they don't want it at all, it will be irrelevant anyway.
3) If they are "undecided", and don't want to take the time to look it up, then it is the seller who has to blame him/her-self when their lack of taking time to post it in the first place causes them to lose the sale.

With me so far? :] Buyers should do this to help encourage the sale. If they don't, per guidelines already suggested in the rules sticky threads, then that is thier stupidity.

Now, as to all the sudden including misleading info, or facts not lookable-up via whois, that is a dog of another color to begin with :guilty:

Just things :imho:

You might, still, wish to contact ManicGirl, the moderator over the domains for auction section.

The Whois won't tell me when the auction ends.

That's the MAIN thing that people don't put, people bid up, and the person whose auctioning the name takes advantage. What if he posted the auction time up first and than half the people who ended up posting didn't make the cut off.

That definatetly should be a RULE in there. No auction-end-time then it doesn't belong on that board, but rather the "Domains For Sale - Make Offer" section instead. Agree with you 100% on that one :bingo:
