I only have one .tv name and I never bought it as the flagship of my enterprise but only because I have various other TLD's in the group.

I have absolutely no intention of putting it up for sale, but am now curious to see what you people think it might be worth.

I am in the adult entertainment industry and the domain is live so i won't link to it because of the kiddies,

Rated X.tv

I am currently using it as an adult Video on demand site which is converting like crazy with ads in mags, newspapers. Haven't got enough for TV ad yet, but it'll happen soon.

Would somebody like to guess what this domain is worth now,

and/or

what it would be worth once I have developed Brand Recognition and the website is cracking?

Hi and welcome to our forum.

Answering a valuation question in this situation is very difficult given the, um, extensive development done on your website.

Just looking at the name on a standalone basis, today, I think we are in the $XXX range.

That said, that is all but irrelevant for you given your development work (even if it is just a template). The name is definitely memorable and brandable and should you get even a moderate amount of traffic to your site, the value of the underlying business will swamp the value of the domain. From there, the sky is the limit.

As for .tv as a whole, I think you are at exactly the right time to be developing. Just early enough to be an early starter, but not too early that that the world will be completely confused.

Cheers and good luck.

Thank's for the warm welcome antonis12.

I appreciate the time you spend appraising the domain.

I went for the co-branded template as when the name is developed and I cash in on it, the new owner can simply point the dns to his own template and have a ready made business.

As for .tv as a whole, I think you are at exactly the right time to be developing. Just early enough to be an early starter, but not too early that that the world will be completely confused.

I tend to agree with you. I was quite excited this morning as I saw the first commercial promoting the technology for bringing the internet to your lounge room TV set, and the presentator says,

"This is the future. Simply download your movie from the net and sit back and watch on the big lcd." :hehe:

Right time, right medium :kickass:
