Greetings all! Used to be a full service ISP in all 50 states with dialup. Sold the customer base years ago but always kept the domain.

Am thinking about selling it (fastwires.net) but this business seems to have gotten complex and full of potential pitfalls. Any info about safe sales appreciated, or even if this might be one you want.
I'm feeling very reasonable on this .

Domain established in 2003 and I've had it since inception.
Set to expire in 2018 but of course, I won't let that happen.
Simply a domain I don't use any more.

Any and all comments welcomed..

Thanks!
Chris

Hey @Chris Hayes

Welcome to NP, hope you njoy ur stay and all the best with ur domaining adventures..

Woaaah Dial up ISP.... been a while since I seen a MODEM RACK ...lol I used to work for many ISP's back in the day.. oh yeah...them US Robotics 33.6KB days...haha

Hmm with regards to his domain... I think ur biggest challenge is going to be that it's a .net ....then also the other thing to consider is what sort of expectations you have in terms of price...

Apart from it being a .net ... I'm wondering about end user potential... I think it might be better suited for a company that does wire transfers more than an ISP ...seeings the focus is more on wireless these days than wired connectivity.

I'm not sure what sorta price you could get for this but I would be surprised if it fetched more than mid - high $xxx - Off course just my opinion and anything is possible when it comes to domaining :)

I was kinda thinking it would be for a telco, network company, ISP, wiring contractor etc.
sat on this for a long time not sure if I'd do anything with it again. Still do some hosting but not in house anymore.
I kinda had a rough figure in my head of $750, but we'll see what happens.

Yea, the old dialup stuff. Had 10 lines into my office and leased lines nation wide. Set up the biz to be the ISP that I thought the biggies SHOULD be, and weren't. Painted my self into a corner with service 365 days, 9 till 9 as a one man. Lost my life! lol Was glad to sell that one!

Hmm I guess Fibre is still wired connectivity....perhaps u are right and it could work for wiring contractors etc..

Good to see that you have a reasonable figure in mind...

I do remember being all excited though, the first time I got a 56K lock! Used to offer channel bonding for my customers to. 112K Was almost as good as ISDN but at a fraction of the cost

I remember when I was a teenager... when I got my first modem...28.8kb... trying to download porn (back then p0rn was a single picture... no chance in hell of getting an actual clip) took like 20-30mins to get a 2mb jpeg file... hahahaha and there were no thumbnails...so u had to play hit and hope...read the link description and click it and wait forever to download...and hope and pray it's a decent pic and not some wolfpig...

Now, I've almost gotten completely out of an IT related stuff. I a lot of reloading and shooting and have the worlds largest database on exploded diagrams, manuals game recipes and such. That will always keep me somewhat tied to the market. Mostly now, I make high end knives.

WAY behind on posting pics. But the reports I get from the hunting community are awesome. Have a sheriff in Colo that told me he got 8 elk and 11 deer on one edge. (he has a 50K acre forest lease so he gets land owner permits)

Off topic and all, but O1 steel can't be beat for blades. D2 has better abrasion resistance but it's brittle so it has to be tempered back. O1 has a lot of toughness that D2 lacks so it can be left much harder, hence it ends up with better abrasion resistance. I have no fear at all shipping O1 at 62-63 RHc. D2, I would bring down below 59 for fear of edge chipping

Send the offer to wintechengineering.com.au/fastwire , nothing to lose.

In the past there was AU based OSS Fastwire group company and some years ago (2013+/-) Huawei acquired this company.

Kind regards
