I just found new free hosting, gogb.info, that has really great free plans with no ads, and it's very tempting, but I have some concerns, first it's an .info domain(most serious hostings use .com or at least .net) and second it's really new, only like few days old.
What do you guys think? should I move one of my sites there?
I was looking for new host for my entertainment portal, and I need one that won't go poof after few months, like it usualy happen to hosts with such great plans(it already happened to me once).

You could give it a shot, first read through all the TOS, make sure theres no catches, if there is, forget it. :(

A new free hosting with a .info domain certainly doesn't sound very good. You can try them if you'd like, but I wouldn't move any critical websites to them right off. I realize everyone has to start somewhere, but you have to be careful, especially when it comes to free hosting. I'd personally look for someone a little more established or even consider paid hosting if your websites are that important.

yeah, that's what I thought, and still, it's just sooo tempting, the plans are realy great, but that's also the bad part,as with such great plans haven't really saw any hosting survive for long :(

Because free hosting presents a problem; resources cost. The only companies that can truly afford this are the ones that either A) place ads and generate the revenue or B)large companies that use it as a branch to promote other products/services.

Well, I've decided to try it, hope it will survive at least for few months, till I'll find a better hosting.

That might be the biggest concern with free web hosting. I don't know if you're still reading the topic on a regular basis (I hope you are), but if you're considering opening up a portal, I strongly recommend that you go for paid hosting. In the long run, it's a whole lot more secure and stable than free hosting.

I personally would never keep a portal or several sites on a free web hosting plan - ever. I've used free hosts before, and many of them (such as 2webh.com) folded up within the first 4 months of operation. But, if you feel that you're comfortable with it, then go for it. Good luck.

They dont look very good to me. I used Zeeblo when I started out. Their plans may seem a little limited but at least they've been around an have had good service.
