New .eu domains

Can anyone advise me on how popular the new .eu domains will be. Will they be top level domains like .com etc?

The new .EU domains will be top level domains. They should be very popular with domain speculators.

I guess that also.
There will be a run on them, but i don't know if it will be open to all. As they will certainly requiring that the owner live in the EU community or ar least have a company there.
